Another Busy Monday

Mondays are my busiest days of the week and today was no different. I got everything done on my to-do list and then had fun changing the "vignette" on the dropleaf table in the sunroom. Remember all the Lavender I cut and  dried?

Here's what I did with it....  stuck all ten bunches in this white crock that I've never known what to do with. So glad now that I didn't get rid of it.  I moved the birdhouses and nests to other spots and got out some white jugs.

I haven't inflicted any pics of my Teddybears on you for a while so here are the "livingroom bears".

We had a most welcome rain on the weekend. A couple of days of not being able to get out there and dead head my flowers meant I had an hour or so to do that also to pull out the Calendula that are about done. I left some to self-seed but most went into the compost.  The Feverfew also are looking ratty and will have to be pulled out. Both the Calendula and Feverfew pop up everywhere in Spring and have to be thinned out ruthlessly.
Enjoy the coming week and remember it's your last chance to get anything done that you meant to do in July!

  1. I love your lavender. It must smell lovely in your house. Your Teddybears are adorable. I was reading your profile and besides not having five children you could be describing me! :) Take care and have a good week.

    1. One the most awesome things about a blog is how one finds people with whom one has much in common. I look forward to getting to know you better on your blog.

  2. I love the big bunch of lavender in the white crock. Isn't it funny how one thing even a pot of flowers means everything sitting around needs to be changed too. Your decorating is very pretty. I've never been able to grow lavender here. Must be the clay soil.

  4. Hi! So many pretty things to look at today! Love the lavender in the white pot. I wish I would have cut more of mine to dry but mine don't have the nice long stems. Pretty embroidered table cloth under it too. Cute picture of the teddy bears and love your suitcase end table. The lace tablecloth with the pretty yellow tea set is so nice. Enjoyed seeing all this. Thanks. Nancy

  5. Thanks for the reminder that July is almost over! I have many projects in the works yet! Your Lavender is lovely, I used to have it in my gardens but Minnesota winters are too hard on many plants. Your bears are cute.
I have bears in the bathroom, mostly Black Bears, shower curtain, towels and what not bears:)

  6. Here in Cornwall we have had far too much rain - and high winds, so that my garden is looking bedraggled and battered. I have been unable to cut my lavender because it never completely dries out before the next onslaught! Grrrr!
Like you, I have a collection of teddy bears, mostly charity shop finds - how can anyone bear to part with their teddies? (Ooops, see what I did there? Lol, lol.)
Only a few are out in my bedroom, but the rest are brought out when my little granddaughter comes to stay; she has them all lined up on the sofa or on the double bed in 'her' bedroom and there's always a couple tucked into her sleeping bag for the night.
Thank you for popping across to my blog - my photos and descriptions of walks with my dog, Zac, must seem very different to you, especially the village roads and quiet lanes.

    1. I love the pictures you take on your walks! The villages seem to me to be straight out of a storybook. Oh well, if I can't actually visit them I can enjoy it all via your blog. About my Teddy bears? I think I have close to 60 at last count. I don't understand either how anyone can bear to part with them. ( I loved your pun).

  7. I think your teddy bears with the pearls need some cat's eye glasses:)
I have one big lavender plant, but it doesn't lend itself easily to the nice bunches you picked. The stems aren't that long, and I have to cut part of the plant to make them long enough for a bouquet. It blooms and then is over and done very fast. I did buy two of the Munstead plants from Devan, and yes, I saw them for 99 cents but they did go through for 69. I don't know how I could have missed them the first time.
