Decorating for Fall

It's that time of the year again...  time to get the house looking like Fall. It even feels like Fall all of a sudden.  The hot, dry weather went overnight it seems and we got rain, wind, more rain and the high for tomorrow is only 18 degrees C.  But the weather forecast is for some sunshine so I'll be out there tidying up the flowerbeds a bit.
But back to decorating the house.  My DH got out the box marked Sept./October ( I've been trying very hard to get all my 'stuff' organized according to the seasons) then it was simply a matter of getting everything out and arranging it. My three gourd plants provided me with some fairly nice gourds and I even got 3 pure white very cute and small pumpkins ( don't remember planting those so maybe the seeds were in the compost?)

I've noticed that my first picture often covers half of my "about me" blurb and in order to avoid that I'll try to keep that first photo smaller.

I love the colours in this quilted tabletopper which, as you probably figured if you read my blog regularly, came from a garage sale.  All the work that goes into creating it and I get it for a few dollars.

This is the dropleaf table in the sunroom. There are two of my gourds and the Butternut squash ( that I also didn't plant. In fact I'm only guessing it's a Butternut. I baked a second one and it tasted like it.)

And finally, my Mom's old treadle machine decked out with more gourds and Indian corn ( is it still called Indian corn ?)  There are two of the white pumpkins that I was surprised to find growing in the front yard.
I hope you enjoyed seeing  how I spent a rainy afternoon. Do you decorate for Fall?

Happy end of the week!      Granny Marigold

  1. Will you come and decorate for me? I love that warm glow in the second picture. Fall colors make me happy. You decorations are simply perfect and you have so many! I have zero decorations! ZERO! I'm going shopping today!

    1. I've been accumulating stuff for many years. Often after the season I get things marked down and of course I shop thrift stores and garage sales. I hope you find things you love when you go shopping.

I noticed that leaves are falling here. It's still really warm though.

    1. I'm wearing a sweater in the house and even so my hands are cold!
Last night I sat at my computer wrapped in one of my many fleece blankets. So cozy.
