This and That

I must have requested this DVD from the library but have no memory of doing so. I got the notification that it was in so we watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Totally wholesome movie. The library bar code is over part of the title but it's Goodnight Mr. Tom.  John Thaw is Mr. Tom and it's weird seeing "Morse" as a totally different personage.

This adorable angel is a thrifty find ( .50) , stands 10" high and holds a wire wrapped heart. She fits perfectly into my Fall display.  I'm so pleased to have found her.

This short length of molding was propped up against the wall in my garden shed. Too short for any of DH's projects but not for mine!!  With a handful of cuphooks I got a great place to hang orphan tea cups.

Looks like I have to do a bit of aligning yet. Also have to be very careful not to knock any tea cups off whenever I use the plug behind them.

Supper today will be baked ham, roasted potatoes, freshly baked cheese buns, and for dessert... cupcakes. I think the grands will be very happy!!

  1. I like the new look! Appropriate for the time of year, I guess you are Fall decorating your blog too:) Supper sounds good. I'm stretching out some squash and sausage soup to feed three of us tonight, and maybe salad to go with it.

  2. Your new angel is sweet! You are very creative... I don't have a brain that can think of reuses... I use Pinterest for that! Your teacups are so beautifully displayed. I love your new header, too! We are having chicken casserole for dinner... no dessert for us though.

  5. You know, it seems like I've watched Goodnight Mr. Tom, but I can't recall what it was about! Love the angel. What a great find! Your supper sounds delish. I'm still working on the pork loin and potatoes I made several days ago. Still good! :)

    1. The movie is about a little boy sent to live with a crotchety old man during the war. They grow fond of each other then he is sent back to his terribly abusive mother. Ring any bells yet?

    2. Still not sure! The boy looks very familiar. I may need to find it at the library. I think that's where I got it before.

  6. Hi! Do you use the library a lot for movies? We have found it is nice to get an audio-book from the library for travelling. Makes the time go faster! Great idea for your tea cups! you sure have a lot of them! Nancy

    1. We don't really watch many movies but when I look for a particular one I search the library site first. It's FREE after all. I've tried audio books but apparently I am strictly a visual person and unless I see and read the book it just doesn't make sense. Mind you,the book I tried was The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and that wasn't the easiest book to follow for me anyway.

  9. I will have to see if Netflix has that movie! Your angel is perfect!
You asked a question on my blog...the tourists come to play in the lakes, fishing , boating, sailing etc...we are glad to see them go home, it is quiet here again and will get quieter when the snowbirds leave in October and November...only those that have to or like Minnesota winters stay:)
