Craft Fair and more

Fall to me means craft fairs, beginning with the Autumn themed ones and not so long  after, the Christmas ones. So DH and I were off first thing this morning to one that was held in my favourite nursery. It's so large a place that even with all the tables set up it was not crowded ( something I really appreciate).  These birdhouses were very cute but expensive at $40.

                                Much work had gone into decorating and it looked great.

    I must show you what I think was the most unusual "craft" at the sale.  I wanted to take a couple of these cuties home. Silly municipal by-laws that prohibit chickens in backyards!!

Moving into the nursery area we admired all the colourful Mums and different arrangements but what I wanted were the Spring bulbs. I almost bought one of these pepper plants.

                     I chose 20 assorted Daffodil bulbs and had a coupon for another 10.

On the way home we stopped at a farm that had pumpkins and all kinds of squash for sale. Only .35 a lb.  Look at all the shapes and colours!!  Thanks Karen, for telling me about this place,

I came home and planted my bulbs right away. Since I dare not dig anywhere in the flowerbeds ( or I will accidentally cut into established bulbs)  I filled two planters that are movable so after they are finished blooming in Spring I can move them into an out-of-the-way area.

 One last picture....my pumpkin pies for tomorrow and some cherry jam for our morning toast.
