New Year's Eve

It's been a quiet day here and will be a quiet evening as we stay home and may not even stay up to see the new year in. We're having a cold and clear end of 2015 and that is the forecast for the next week. I had a lovely walk this morning. Not many people were in the park. Curiously I didn't meet up with any people with dogs. There are usually any number of them out around that time of the morning.

The lake has formed a thin layer of ice and there were so many Canada Geese standing around on the ice. I watched for a while and flock after flock took off  presumably to feed in some farmer's field but about a dozen geese stayed put. I wondered how geese make up their minds whether to go or stay.  Finally I had to move on because my feet were getting cold but as far as I could see those few didn't leave.

I wish each one of you a safe and happy New Year's Eve and a wonderful 2016.

  1. Blessings on your new year, GM! I'll be hitting the hay early, too. Work tomorrow. Besides, I get grumpy if I stay up late, lol! :)

  4. Happy New Year! We popes out around 10:30 last night but a thoughtful neighbour decided to let off fireworks at midnight so we did see the new year come in!
    Take care.

    1. We usually have some neighbour that will set off fw around midnight but last night the noise began a lot earlier... and continued on. For those of us who would rather sleep it's not such a great thing .
