Sunrise and My To-Do List

Once again, the picture here has very little to do with my blogging but I like a pretty picture to brighten things up!  Speaking of brightening things up..... I've been waiting for this day because at last sunrise was at 8 A.M..  It's been stuck first at 8:04 then ever so slowly it has receded until at last we're here. The sunset times have been better. Sunset  on Jan. 1 was 4:22  and today it is 4:36.

My to-do list for this Wednesday reads as follows:

......mop living room floor and maybe dust half-heartedly

.....Clear the paper mess beside my computer

.....Request a number of books from the library ( some of those titles were jotted on slips of paper that were creating the mess by my computer.)

....Mix up more of my homemade kitchen spray ( distilled water, Rubbing Alcohol and a drop of dish soap)

....Make Strawberry Jam

.....Bake a loaf of bread and some cheese buns for supper ( All from one lump of dough that my breadmaker will produce).

.....Make supper for us six.

What's on your list today?  Do you even bother with making one?  My memory is such that if I want to get anything done I have to write it down.

  1. Sounds like a busy day for you! I was better at making lists of to-do chores a few years ago. I just wing it now and most things get done. I baked an apple tart and chocolate chip cookies today while Chuck painted the upstairs stairwell.
    Take care.

  2. Actually it's 2 o'clock and I have done everything except the bread/buns but the breadmaker is about halfway done and I'll do that then. Now I am free to "visit" my friends, which I love to do!
Is an apple tart the same as a pie?

    1. I call it a tart. It is a pie crust filled with apple and topped with a oatmeal, butter, sugar, flour crumbly mixture. A little less calories!

  3. That's an impressive list and I'm even more impressed that you were nearly done by 2:00. My biggest accomplishment today was cleaning my shower. I don't care for that job and probably leave it longer than I should, thus making it more work than it probably needs to be.

  4. Hi, Strawberry jam and homade bread sounds good. My amtibiotics for the lyme disease are making me sick and so much does not sound good! sometimes I make lists, Nancy

  5. That's a lot, GM! Mopping the floor is a biggie for me. After that, I think I need a rest!
    Your bread sounds good!
I'll have that jam on mine, please!

  6. Winter is an unusual time for jam making.
I do make lists, but today I had no list and that;s about what I got done.

    1. I freeze most of my fruit in season and make jam/pies etc.. during the rest of the year, as I need it.

  7. Some days I make lists, but most I don't. Today was a shopping day, so I did take a list with me, to make sure I got everything at the appropriate stops. First the library, then Davis Meats, then a couple of thrift stores:), Dollarama, Superstore and the gas station to fill up with that cheap gas!!

    1. Karen, I had trouble with your PS comment and the only way I could get it here was to copy and paste. But now it looks like it was MY comment when really it was yours.

  9. Every time I dust it is half-heartedly! :) I am a list maker too. I just need to be better at doing what is on my list instead of other things. I Love your old pictures. Reminds me of the old post cards my daughter Lynn has on her new blog, Sidetracked Lynn.

  10. My to-do lists usually have more to do with bills or taxes. Housecleaning gets done by accident, lol! I don't mess things up that much by myself, but I'm sure the dust is collecting. Fortunately, my eyesight is just so that I don't notice it. ;)

  11. Lists mean a commitment. This time of year I pick several things in the morning that I want to accomplish in the day and then I can have free time!! To nap or read or do whatever...like a bonus! Some days that works and some days it doesn't. Sometimes life gets in the way. More toward spring I will make lists:)
