March Breezes

Well, the first week of March is done and we have had a day or two where we could work outside.
Today's rain didn't happen, which is fine, but there's a chilly breeze and I don't really feel like putting on a warm jacket and going out. Besides, at this point there isn't much to do in the yard.

This week I did some baking, more jam making, and finished reading  The Lake of Dreams by Kim Edwards. I picked this book up at the thrift store and after a bit of a slow start it got quite interesting.

Today I went shopping for a birthday gift then off to the Dollar Store to get a few things. Came home and spent an hour or so on my latest Smash Book.

What did you do this week?  Whatever it was I hope it was a good week and that the week to come is even better!

Soon I must go look for some lovely purple pamsies like the ones in the picture except I won't put mine in a basket. Pansies are so cheery and don't mind a bit of frost. They don't like to be plastered down by heavy rain but I'll put mine where they'll be somewhat protected.

Thanks for visiting today.

  1. I love pansies because they always look like they are smiling. Lots of different colours to so they make a fabulous display
Hope you have a great week

  2. I feel the same way about having to put on a warm jacket to go outside. There was just too much of a chill in the air today. Yesterday, we were busy working and stayed warm. I love pansies too, but have never had luck growing them. Isn't that odd. I think I will try some again. Those in the basket are so pretty.

  5. March is so variable here in Wisconsin! This weekend we got 2 inches of snow! And today it is in the 50s. So I am enjoying the warm-ish breezes as they come. Happy March!

  6. I recognized your first photo. I have "The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady" too. I love all the paintings in it. So pretty.
Hope you got your pansies. It will be another month or so before we have them here.
    Take care!

  7. I've been very lazy the last two days. It's habit forming!
Smash books are so fun. I think I need to revisit that sweet art form.
I hope your week is off to a lovely start, GM.

  8. Thanks for posting the Edwardian Lady photo. It reminds me that I might get my copy out and "copy" one of her paintings! That sounds like fun. To answer your questions from my blog, I think we were more patient with our kids. Mine had free rein with noisy things like recorders! Also, the wooden figures I used as models for my ATC I found when I Googled "carved faces". I'm not sure how that idea even came to me! :) Have a great day! I should be thinking about buying some containers for my balcony so I can do some gardening!
