This and That

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a lovely weekend. Saturday was a bit chilly but Sunday and today it is warm ( 26 now at 2 P.M.) that would be close to 80 F.  Not bad at all for April.

We went to some garage sales on Saturday but found little that I really wanted. I say 'really' because there were things I liked but I am better at asking myself if I have space for said items.

This Wisteria was blooming in front of one of the houses that had g.s. It had a wonderful scent.

This handbag came not from a gs but from a thrift store,  I love all the compartments that it has. Also love the colour!

I went on a search for Zinnia seeds which you wouldn't think would be such a task but I had to go to no less than 5 shops before I finally found what I was looking for. In one of the shops this kitty was having a nap. It opened one eye when I snapped a pic but then went promptle back to sleep.

In my garden the English Daisies are in full bloom ......

....as are the Spanish Bluebells, which I find are quite invasive. I have white and also blue ones.

That's it for today. I think I'll go see if the porch is too warm for sitting and also if the darn wasps are still hanging out there. Earlier I got so fed-up with them that I got the vacuum out there and vacuumed about ten of them. They are quite aggressive and I'm not about to be bullied off my porch.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Ha! That's funny that you refuse to be bullied by the wasps. They ARE around this time of year here, too.
I love zinnias. I'm glad you found some seeds. That's the brand of seeds I usually buy, too.
Wow! You guys have had such nice weather. Do you hang clothes on the line?

    1. I don't use my clothes line as much as I should but it's in the shade ( all 25 feet of it) so drying is slow. Also I've had trouble with birds pooing on my clean laundry and that's not so great. ( Maybe if I didn't have a dozen bird houses around I'd have less birds).

  2. It just hit 89 degrees here in Seattle today. That's hot! All the pretty flowers will cook. That will bring an end to the tulips. Everything is blooming too early this year. Where will the May flowers be?

  4. I'm smiling at the thought of you standing up to those bullies with your vacuum. You go, girl :). It is very disappointing to get all set to enjoy a relaxing time on the porch and then have stinging insects invade your space.
I am surprised to hear how many stores you had to visit to find your zinnias. I bought some recently at Walmart. They had quite a selection. I planted them yesterday and am watering them as we are in desperate need of rain.

    1. I did find just one variety of Zinnia seeds at Walmart but they were the very tall ones and had very large blooms. I figured one heavy rain and they'd be flattened.

  5. I have the same bluebells, but not the white ones. I quite like them:) It got to 30 on our thermometer, I'm sure how accurate it is, but apparently the airport was saying 29. Crazy, too hot for me this time of the year. I tried to do some gardening around lunchtime and it was just too hot.

    1. I also went out to do some gardening after lunch but the backyard is so shady I was okay. The front yard was another matter. Too hot.

  8. Hi! Your Wisteria is so pretty! I really like zinnia also. Last year I bought some that were already started. I hope to have some again this year. Nancy
