Old House

I happened to see this fine old house on the internet. Empty and neglected, just waiting for the right people to rescue it before it's too late. Apparently this house is in Iowa.  Built in 1901, it has 7000 square feet of loveliness!  ( Except for the kitchen which has been remodeled and looks way too modern for my taste) I love all the woodwork.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

This last photo is my favourite.

Thanks for visiting,

  1. Okay, you're not going to believe this...well you probably will, knowing me. When I read your comment on my post today I decided to click on your name and go to your blog. I've been wondering why you haven't posted anything in such a long time. Boy was I shocked. You had several posts that I haven't seen because your name is missing from my 'blog list'. I accidentally deleted the list, and left you out when I re-entered the blogs I follow. And yours is one of my very favorites! I'm sorry. I am so happy about your bunny. She is so pretty. She will get tamer and love you. The house in your post today is beautiful. I would love to live there. Take care. I was sorry to read about your husband's brother. Very sad.

  2. I agree-the kitchen doesn't "fit" in that house at all. What a gorgeous place........though too much to heat. Can you imagine the gas bill for it???? Yikes!
    Happy Thanksgiving

  5. Wouldn't we love to read a house essay written by the first occupant of this gorgeous house? I like the wood floors.

  6. It makes you wonder what they were thinking to put in a kitchen of that style. Beautiful old house.
