Pets

Well, I suppose a pigeon comes under the heading of pets, right?  Son2 brought her home from the complex a few years ago,  after finding her dazed on the ground, no doubt after hitting a window. She has a band around one foot but my DIL tried unsuccessfully to find where she came from so we just kept her.
Now that the weather is milder she isn't confined to her cage.  She likes to be close to wherever DH is working and if he leaves his workshop door open she's in there with him.

Naughty Cinnamon insists on chewing on her plastic litter box. Hopefully it isn't toxic. We have given her sticks to chew but apparently plastic has more appeal.
She also loves to chew paper. This was taken right after I cleaned her cage and put down clean paper.

Besides spending time with those two I have baked cookies and also put a casserole in the oven for supper. That's my Monday. Now I get to sit and read.

Thanks for visiting today .

  1. Since the pigeon is living and eating, in your area, I hope its droppings are not as dangerous, as city pigeons droppings are........

Silly Cinnamon. lol Eating plastic. Eeeek!

Cookies and a casserole! Now that is the icing on the cake, of a nice day.

    Enjoy your reading!!!!!

  3. How lucky that you have a pigeon now. She is so pretty. Now, I would love to have a pigeon! I love bunnies, but aren't they messy! I cannot keep their cages clean or their pen. I think there may be babies soon. Little Penny and Bun Bun have been spending a lot of time together and just today I've noticed Penny pulling her fun out and making a next. :)

  4. I've never seen a white pigeon before. All of the ones around here are gray. She's kind of pretty. Hope you got some good reading time today.

  5. I keep thinking of the song Bert used to sing on Sesame Street, "Doing the Pigeon!" Your hubby must be a pigeon whisperer!

  6. Hi! Your pigeon is pretty but I don't think I would want one for a pet. I would like to have a bunny though but I guess that is out of the question now. What kind of casserole did you make? Nancy

    1. It was a corn casserole. Do you read the Mennonite Girls can cook blog? They have a great corn casserole in their recipes.

  7. That's kind of neat about your pigeon! Does he/she have a name? I wonder if there are certain sticks that rabbits like to chew on. I wonder if they like willow?
Tucker likes to chew plastic too. A going concern, that pup!

    1. She ( and it is definitely a she because she has produced eggs) had a name that the grands gave her but mostly we just call her Birdie. She lets herself be picked up and now that Bracken has been convinced not to harm her she can be out more.
