Changes

The Spring Clematis that has bloomed for the past weeks is now about done.
So today we went from this ( taken when it was at its best)...

  to this...

My little succulent garden has also undergone a change as my DH and youngest son built a wall where the fence was and a roof over top so the bench on the other side is out of the rain.

There were discussions as to how best to do it.  In the background you can see Cinnamon Bun's cage.

More discussions.  The part of the house on the left is the original house which DH built almost 40 years ago when that six footer on the roof was a few months old!!  and  the two-story addition on the right was built with the help of all 3 sons about ten years ago.

We wanted to use this old window in the wall but it didn't look right......

so we went to the Restore store where we were able to get this one for a reasonable price.

So now this little corner has a new look. The other side of the wall isn't finished yet but once it is I'll take pictures.

Thanks for visiting. Please leave a comment so I know you came by.

  1. Your outdoor spaces are so welcoming! When the clematis is done blooming so you cut it back?

    1. Because it blooms on new wood we do cut it back but not drastically.

I love the window with the colored glass. I'd come up with an excuse to use it no matter what, lol.
Your yard is so comfy and inviting. Lots of work but well worth it!

  8. It is beautiful. Doesn't an enclosure make the garden prettier. It's funny, I just was telling my neighbor that I wanted a little wrought iron bistro table and two chairs for the playhouse. She told me they come in the color red. I told her I had never seen a red one. You have one!! Cinnamon Bun sure has a pretty home.

    1. My little Bistro set came to me in chipped white paint but a can of red spray paint fixed that. Too bad it couldn't fix the unstable table that looks okay but tips so easily!!

    2. Is your little red table missing a leg? If not, it may be the photo, but the three legs don't look evenly spaced underneath it.

    4. I'll have to look underneath and see if there is a leg missing or not. Meanwhile everyone gets warned not to lean on it!!

  9. Too bad you couldn't use the window you had but the new one is really nice too. That clematis is beautiful. I didn't know they grew that large! Nancy

  10. Like how you set the new roof on top of the old roof, so the water on the old roof can still flow into it's eavestrough. We probably would have not thought of that and would have made the job more difficult and tried to add the new roof to the end of the existing roof. Good have to have men around who can get 'er done!
Great find on the new window. I think it looks really good in the new wall. Hope you can find a good spot for the colourful one though!
