Cookies and Flowers

I hope each one of you has a wonderful Easter.

Recently I saw over on Lorrie's blog, Fabric Paper Thread, that she had made Hob Nobs which are a delicious cookie somewhat like a digestive but with oatmeal in the recipe. I thought I'd give them a try. They are meant to be thin, and once they are cooled covered with chocolate.  Mine spread quite a bit but turned out very well I thought. A bit more work than usual cookies but worth the bother.  They are delicious right out of the freezer ( ask me how I know this).

Yesterday's trip to look for flowers was successful ( except there were no tomato plants that I could see)

There's even a little pot of Basil ( on the left). For now I'm going to enjoy most of these inside either in the sunroom or on the enclosed porch. Once the nights are less chilly I'll put them into the ground.

Thanks for visiting

  3. The flowers are pretty and the cookies look delicious. I smiled as I pictured you eating a cookie right out of the freezer - I do the same thing with brownies. I find I like them better frozen.

  4. Your little comic would be funny if it weren't so true . . . LOL. I think that was my picture looking at the plants that I would kill. It's good to be able to laugh about life. Last night I took two neighbors with me to Good Friday service. I dropped them off at the door and then found a place to park. When the service was over one of the ladies couldn't find her phone. She said that she took it out right as she was going into the church and turned the ringer off and the other lady agreed and said yes she saw her do it. So we had everyone looking all over between where we sat and the front door. Then someone ask me if I checked my car? Well, of course not, because they both had the same story, they saw her turn the ringer off as she was coming into the church. Well, I went to the car just to satisfy this person and sure enough there it was on the floor of the back seat in my car. We laugh so hard, because it wasn't just a senior moment but an agreeable double senior moment, LOL.

  12. Love Lorrie's posts, and those cookies do look delicious! Nice to have them frozen, and ready to be heated and eaten! Loved your cartoon about the flowers. I raise my own in the greenhouse, and wait until May to buy flowers, if I do. But it sure is tempting! We had lows of 22 here several nights last week. No hurry yet to plant, lol! Happy Easter to you!

  14. The cartoon about plants you will kill had me laughing so hard! I will kill them all because I am not good with plants. I am, however, very good with pets, as I have had cats most of my life...cage birds, such as finches, as well. I currently have two zebra finches, male, though, because I didn't want to breed, just enjoy their company. The cookies look soooo good! I had to come back for a second look, and I wanted to say that your blog header is so stunning and heartwarming! Blessings.

  15. I'm happy you tried the HobNobs. I made another batch recently and left off the chocolate. Not quite as sweet.

There are so many plants in my greenhouse just now, and lots of tomatoes. I'll share them with my children. It's still too chilly to plant them outside here. I always wait until the May long weekend.
