Yesterday we had our warmest day so far this Spring...30C which was too hot for my liking. Then overnight we had some lovely showers, all my plants gave sighs of relief, and we're much more comfortable today.
This row of Rugosa Roses completely hides our next door neighbours. Fortunately they like them because they hang over onto their driveway. ( the roses, not the neighbours). I love Rugosas because they don't need spraying or watering or even pruning, they rarely ever have aphids and they smell amazingly wonderful.
Here a volunteer Foxglove has popped up. This year has seen more Foxgloves show up in every area than any other year! Fortunately I am very fond of them.
A bird must have dropped the seed for this perennial Bachelor Button.
My best Columbine is this one that is growing in gravel beside the actual flowerbed
The rain at night weighed the heavy Peony flowers down so I cut some and brought them in.
That's it for today. Thanks for coming by.
I like Rugosa roses too, and foxgloves. Like columbines, foxgloves plant themselves wherever they want
ReplyDeleteI think you have more accidental blooming flowers than I could ever have in a well-cultivated garden. How beautiful those blossoms are. I am sure your plants are happy to have gotten rain down on their pretty little heads.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is a lovely sight. I can't persuade foxgloves to stay in mine.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are amazing! Each one has a beautiful vibrant color.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are absolutely beautiful. I love Foxglove, but I seem to have trouble getting them to come back. And the Columbine is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Everything looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful blooms you're surrounded by and I cannot think of a better fence between neighbors than roses that smell divine :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I bet your yard smells amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have tried numerous times to grow foxgloves but the only ones that will survive the winter here are the garden variety of yellow so I have to be content with those. Your flowers are all so lush and beautiful.

We haven't even got close to 30C!
