It's been a busy week so far yet nothing much has happened that I could blog about. Life can be both ordinary and busy at the same time it seems.
We've had strong winds and now...middle of March almost....the forecast is for SNOW. Who knows if it will happen and if it does, how much will fall.
The last trip to buy plants was a while ago but this pot of Daffodils took its time opening. The flowers are so frilly and pretty but unfortunately they have no scent. The pot has already fallen over once. I've tied the stalks together so hopefully they will stay upright.
Do you watch the birds that visit your garden? Maybe you feed them like we do. Here's something important to know when nesting season arrives.

ReplyDeleteWeather makes some fun and wants to send some snow to your region - I think, it will be only for a short time, but for very sensitive flowers it is dangerous to get frozen.
I love sitting out in my yard and listening to and watching the birds. I have an app on my phone that helps me identify them by birdsong. I feel like the birds are helping me to maintain peace and sanity!

Just love your daffodils.....hope they stay upright for you! We are getting our 2nd winter storm in two days tonight and will get the 3rd winter storm on Saturday into Sunday. Good grief....what a March this is turning out to be. First we had ten days of mild temps to melt some of our snow..and now 3 snow storms. Oh well, eventually Spring will come. (I hope)

The sparrows are already nesting here they use the same nest every year they even use it all the year to get warm in the winter.

ReplyDeleteYes, we are big bird watchers and feeders. Interesting information you have shared about the birds, especially regarding the dryer lint. I would have never guessed something like that could happen.

ReplyDeleteWe don't however the lady next door feeds them. I toss scraps out that I can't use into the woods. Deer usually get those.

ReplyDeleteThose are interesting bird facts. I don't put out nesting materials because there is plenty of natural material around here, surrounded as we are with forest and fields, and gardens.
