Daffodils and Carnations

I have a few Daffodils blooming in my garden but not enough to fill a vase so we went to the plant shop where I got a couple of bunches.   While I was there I saw that 4" pots of Carnations were on sale so I got  4 or maybe 5 pots. I am very fond of the pink ones so that's what I chose. In the picture (below) they look washed out but they are really a nice pink.

Our weather continues to be wet. We walked in the rain this morning. By afternoon the sun came out and for a while it was quite pleasant out. Then it got very windy.

Eldest made  an Easter 'card' for us. It's quite large so I put it on the fridge door. Those "eggs" in the basket are stuck on securely. They survived gentle tugging by a sweet little 5 year old today.

Thanks for coming by

  10. I like the daffodils and carnations.
That's a nice Easter card - I've received some from family and friends, they look nice on the mantel.

    All the best Jan

  12. I have a few daffodils blooming, but I hate to pick them and bring them in because they last so much longer out in the yard and look so cheery to me when I'm out there or looking out the window and to people passing by. They're such a cheerful little flower that just screams out "spring is coming!" I know on the calendar it's already here, but it doesn't feel like it until the weather is nice and warm and you can go out with just a sweater. Easter is so early this year and our church is having an outdoor service in the city park. I sure hope the weather cooperates. 🌷🌷🌷

  13. Such a beautiful Easter card, and homemade ones are always the best!
I also buy daffodils for vases; I never cut them in the garden, mainly because they bloom much longer in the flowerbed.
The yellow of the daffodils is simply gorgeous.
I also have these little carnations in the flowerbed in my garden; I think they bloom in June... it's cold here today, we even had a few snowflakes... but it won't be long before the sun is shining again.
    Warmest regards, Viola

  14. I love your Easter card. I have daffodils but I don’t pick them up anymore as they last longer outside. I have the same book and I love the watercolours on it and long ago I did some of it myself.

  15. Such a beautiful card! I love handmade cards! So lovely to find carnations that you love. We are not ready to plant anything yet here, it will be late May or June before we do. But such an exciting time as the daffodils begin to grow, no blooms yet.

  16. * Also here in the Bavarian Forest the Daffodils beginn to shine with their fine yellow light. But first the very little ones, the bigger ones - I think - will come exactly on Eastser. We call them "Easter-bells".
    * I love the strong smell of carnations. The colour you choosed is also my favourite for these flowers.
    * What a fine selfmade eastercard!
