Another beautiful morning. 6C when I first checked but rising as the morning progresses. I have a to-do list and will get to that shortly. Before I do that I want to share with you the pictures of my 3 Amaryllis that are blooming. First one is Nymph which has the largest flowers of any that I have.
The next one to open was Red Lion...
....then Terra Cotta
I may have mentioned in last post that I was making an Impossible Pineapple Pie. It was not very good and I won't keep that recipe. I think it's the first of the Impossible Pies that I've tried that wasn't tasty.
Oh well, DH says Don't throw it out, so I won't, but I doubt anyone else in the family will like it.
Did you notice the lilacs beside the pie? There is a lilac bush blooming on a vacant lot and as we walked by DH picked a small branch. I love their scent so much. Yesterday when Eldest came at lunch she brought a bigger branch for me to enjoy. My kitchen smells heavenly.
I think I should get at my list for today and make sure everything gets done so I can read out on the porch. 📚📖📑📓📕📋📝📚
Thanks for visiting

Beautiful blog
ReplyDeleteThat's sad about the impossible Pie, but the beauty of those flowers is something else!
ReplyDeleteI have amaryllis envy! None of mine rebloomed this year and the bulbs don't look healthy. I'll have to start over when the bulbs appear in shops next autumn.
ReplyDeletePineapple upside-down cake is a favorite in our family--I've never tried the 'impossible' recipes.
You can save the pie with ice cream - ice cream fixes a LOT.
ReplyDeleteI adore the smell of lilacs blooming. We don't have any near blooming yet. Your flowers are all so pretty. I agree with Gina. Ice Cream will definitely improve the cake. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Your Amaryllis are so beautiful. Wish I could smell your lilacs....I do love them so. And your pineapple pie looks good. :)
ReplyDeleteYour white Amaraylis is beautiful :) Reading on the porch sounds lovely, something we don't really have in the UK but I have a seat in the garden and will be out there today as the UK is currently enjoying unusually high temperatures.
ReplyDeleteThings are warming up here, but not that much!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms and lilacs in the house — that’s already a perfect day, even with a failed pie
ReplyDeleteI thouhgt my two amaryliss were dead, but they suddenly decided to live, and one has a huge bud waiting to open!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! Oh, lilac blooming there, wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour Amaryllis look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteShame about the impossible Pie ... perhaps try it with ice-cream!
All the best Jan
Lilacs still here in Bavaria sleep deep.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do with the Amaryllis, when they finished flourishing? They are so very beautiful!
The pie looks nice... DH is right: Often the cook is unshure and too hard against the own product.
I am always amazed at how beautiful your Amaryllis are. I think it is such a beautiful flower, but for whatever reason, I do not have a green thumb like you do when it comes to getting them to rebloom.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your impossible pineapple pie. It happens though.
Sorry the Pineapple Pie didn't work. We make an Impossible with Italian Sausage and it is really good:)
ReplyDeleteWe are no where near lilac time at leat another month. But I do love them too. Your amaryllis are fabulous!! You have a very green thumb.

All of the flowers look so pretty. What is it with failed recipes lately? I have made my mom's favorite coconut cream pie several times. I planned one for Easter and it never set. Weird.
ReplyDeleteAmaryllis are very pretty, but sometimes they don't bloom when you'd like. Write down the pineapple cake recipe and I'll try to tell you why it didn't turn out well.
ReplyDeleteYour amaryllis are beautiful! It has been years since I had one. I didn't even know there were so many colors.
ReplyDeleteI love lilacs too, but can't seem to keep them alive. There is a virus that gets them no matter how hard i try. The scent is one of my favorites.
Did the Impossible Pie "failure" get eaten?
ReplyDeleteVery nice Amaryllis I love that flower. Never baked a pineapple pie but I am surprised its not good?
