I don't have much to blog about today so I'll fall back on "Do you Remember?"
Feel free to skip it if you are not interested.
I was going for an even dozen but I think 11 will do. I remember all of them, but I'd be surprised if anyone else does.
Have a lovely weekend. Thanks for coming by and actually reading my post today.
I COULDN"T RESIST A COUPLE MORE.

I remember all of the. Linda, intheimage.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI remember most of them too! It made me smile!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this post, dear friend! I love to reminisce about days gone by! I remember pretty much everything in your photos, as I was born in 1956 (baby boomer here) :)
ReplyDeleteI did not know that pedal pushers are now known as capris...I mean, I am familiar with both terms, but I never realized that they just changed the name from pedal pushers to capris! Thank you for this!
When I went to elementary school in the 60s, all the girls wore white blouses and tunics and the boys wore slacks and (if I recall accurately), white shirts and a tie. And yes, the tunics were a dress as opposed to pants, and the blouse was always worn beneath the tunic.
I do remember the cloth diapers and special safety pins, and they were much more environmentally friendly than the single use disposable ones of today!
I loved baby doll pajamas! Although I am familiar with the tub in your photo, no, I was never given a bath in one (I think they were before I was born)
I recognize the old coffee percolator!!! And I also remember the electric frying pans...I think they are still available today, they just don't look like the one in the photo you are sharing.
I will add something not mentioned in your post. I remember the days when mothers and grandmothers went shopping with curlers and a net in their hair!
My parents never had a car, we always used public transit (and I still do now, never had a car, either), I remember some of the gas stations visually but not much more than that.
I do remember the old formica dinette sets! They came in different colours (red, green, yellow and blue, if I recall accurately), and you could expand the table by pulling at both ends and there was a piece that could be inserted in the middle if you had more than four people dining at the table!
I also remember the old telephone tables...the telephone sat on the top of this small table, their was a seat built into it, and it had a shelf where you could store the telephone book or a notebook and pen.
I remember all of these things, but never took a bath in a tub.
ReplyDeleteMy scar was on my thigh.
I remember all of them! The year after I graduated the school allowed girls to wear pants and they installed air conditioning. I still think pregnant women would look better dressed like we did back then. AND, last of all, Mr D and I bought a Mustang the year they first came out. It was poppy red with black interior and we were oh so young.
ReplyDeleteThe grandmas look very smart! It was much work, to wash and iron such kind of clothes! Today we ony have some T-Shirts, this is enough.
ReplyDeleteSadly I remember them all
ReplyDeleteCathy
I have that scar on my arm and I have some of those wash tubs that I use around our farm. Some are planters :)
ReplyDeleteI remember every one of them except I never took a bath in a washtub. We had a formica table, coffee pot like that, electric skillet, pedal pushers, baby dolls, I wore only dresses to school until they changed the rule when I was in the 10th grade. I used cloth diapers on our first two babies. I have the scar on my arm too. :-) My Grandma dressed exactly like that. I I bought gas at Hamilton's Service Station where they checked my oil, fluid levels and windshield wipers every time they filled up my car with gas. I miss those days.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the fun trip down memory lane.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
I remember this style of coffee tables vividly.
ReplyDeleteIn general, the rest from favorite movies and series..
it's good to remember!!
Lovely post! Some of the pictures look familiar. That picture with the three old ladies reminds me of old photos taken a long time ago of my own relatives.
ReplyDeleteI recall them all even that wash tub used as a bath tub. It was what we had for a bath because we did not have an inside bathroom or indoor hot water until I was nine. We did go to sauna every Saturday night so we would be clean for Sunday morning church. I always wanted a Mustang and my Dad always said if I graduated from college he would buy me a 64 Mustang:) I miss the Full Service gas stations and that bell that would summon the attendant. All good memories:)
ReplyDeleteI remember all of these. My mother hung cloth diapers in our backyard every day. You know she had to hate it!! She also sewed all of my dresses for school and I think I didn't start wearing shorts to school until 5th grade. I had a scooter skirt and I loved it - so much more freedom. I also remember getting the end of my jeans caught in the bike's chain - I definitely needed some pedal pushers!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely remember all of them. Instead of a galvanized tub for bathing we had a little white enameled tub for bathing. I still have it. We also have several galvanized tubs hanging in the garage.
ReplyDeleteLove sharing the memories! Remember patent leather shoes? And the sound when you walked on tile? Remember your Sunday best hat with that elastic under your chin? Remember playing dress up & house with your Dollie’s?
ReplyDeletePS I would love to find an electric skillet like that one. Never washed in a tub like that, my scar is in my bum! Didn’t the pregnant ladies look feminine and comfy. Petal pushers what a hoot! Faith @ farmhouseworthy
ReplyDeleteI remember most of these. I think girls were allowed to wear pants to school, but my mother never allowed it. In the winter I wore long pants under my dress, but had to take them off before going into the classroom.
ReplyDeleteBathing in a tub was done only when visiting one aunt and uncle who had no bathroom.
Fun memories!
I did enjoy this post.
ReplyDeleteSome of the images did look familiar.
Aww the one with the older ladies reminded me of my dear Grans.
Hope you are having a happy weekend.
All the best Jan
I remember all of them except the coffee percolator. We never used the tin bath tub, but old Mrs Challis next door didn't have a bathroom extension like most of the rest of us so had one hanging up next to her outdoor toilet in the back yard. This was in 1980. She was 87 then; I bet she just washed at the kitchen sink. She looked just like the grannies in the photo.
ReplyDeleteI remember them all. I also remember when telephone numbers were 3 digits. The operator would ask, what number? She was actually our next door neighbor, Mrs. Blakemore.
ReplyDeleteLooking at these definitely takes me back to a much simpler time in life. I remember almost every single one of these items, especially those old kitchen gadgets and toys. You really found a great way to spark some wonderful memories for all of us today.
ReplyDeleteI remember the last six. I'm not so hot on the women's clothing! But we used cloth diapers, a coffee pot like that and we still have our electric frypan!
ReplyDeleteI love this and yes, i remember all of these. Great memories! Thanks for sharing (c)
ReplyDeleteI remember some of those and they are great memories. Running over the bell at getting FULL service; gas, windshield cleaned, oil checked...ah, those were the days.
ReplyDeleteI remember all except electric frying pan!
ReplyDeleteSure brings back alot of memories....Yes to all of them except for the scar on the arm...so that makes me wonder if I never got immunized at the time?
ReplyDeleteEllabie
I don't remember all of them, but I think that is because of cultural differenses. I remember very well the Baby doll pjs in nylon! I was so happy when I got one and thought it was so beautiful. We also had a coffee perculator.
