Happy First day of April. There's a light rain falling and tomorrow's forecast is for drizzle. Hopefully all the April showers will bring lots of May flowers. Due to the clouds I didn't see the full moon last night nor will I tonight but I did get an early glimpse on Monday night.
picture and text from the internet
The first night of April will be lit up by the full Pink Moon, though the moon itself will not appear pink as it rises.
The Pink Moon is tied to seasonal changes rather than its appearance. “This Moon heralded the appearance of the ‘moss pink’ (Phlox subulata), also called wild ground phlox or creeping phlox—one of the first spring wildflowers,” the Old Farmer’s Almanac explains.
I don't have any creeping phlox blooming as yet but my Rock cress is doing its best to brighten the back garden. Creeping phlox is very easy to grow and, as the 'net tells me, suitable even for a novice gardener. I'd say Rock Cress is equally easy to grow.
Another easy to grow early bloomer is Doronicum or Leopard's Bane. Mine is just about in full bloom now.
Miss Kitty is glad the ice is gone from the bird bath because she likes to drink from it. Maybe it tastes like birds.
Thanks for visiting

We used to grow Leopard's Bane. It was much taller that yours. I am enjoying all of the early spring bloomers.
