Summer has arrived with lots of very warm days. Fortunately it cools off at night. My flowers are loving all the sunshine too. This old rose which was a wee little shrub when we got it has grown to be very wide and every year it is covered with blooms.
We walked at Willband yesterday. We made sure to get on our way before the days heated up. We didn't see many birds this time. Some ducks on the water, too far away to identify. Some Swallows that haven't gone yet.
Later I decided to wash another cupboard full of teacups, this time they are all Royal Albert. It was quiet and peaceful in the kitchen as I took down each teacup and washed it before putting it back on the shelf. Sorry for the slightly tilted photo.
This morning we drove the short distance to Fishtrap Creek and walked around the perimeter. The water level is very low. The city has plans to dredge the creek and get rid of a lot of the sludge that makes it less than lovely to look at. I can't help thinking what amazing compost that sludge would make.
As we go into the week I will continue washing my many teacups and generally tidying the house.
Aside from watering my flowers early in the day I'll stay indoors.
What does your week hold?
Thanks for coming by

It is such a beautiful reminder that flowers give us. Whether it is spring, summer, or even winter, they remind us that there is still colour even during the darkest days. Our week will be a busy one. Besides work, we spend every day keeping up with our little boy, who has endless energy, so no two days are ever the same! And then there are whatever surprises life decides to bring our way.As for me, I enjoy watching a few football matches now and then, and it seems that Maria enjoys them too when we sit together in the evening. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteIt's not going to be very hot here the next few days, so I hope to do some gardening as well, and even bake!
ReplyDeleteI love to hear about your walks, now in the early morning. You are a good example for me <3
Beautiful flowers and dishes. Thankfully for the last week the temperature here in Montreal had been comfortable.
ReplyDeleteFor me this is great because I can't take the heat and humidity that we get.
Thank you for sharing, and I hope you have a lovely week ahead. 😊
My husband watered the plants last night and this morning as today begins the worst temperature around 40 degrees C . We stayed all weekend inside and it will be the whole week unfortunately. I love your roses colour. I often declutter our home and still have a lot to do I sometimes look at what you told me once the fly lady method very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteYour rose is like one my grandmother had, it spread all over the wall between her and next door and the scent was heavenly.
ReplyDeleteYour rose is stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely rose!
ReplyDeleteNice day here might be 72F this afternoon. I have laundry in the dryer.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are so pretty, and that is one healthy bush. I imagine it must smell divine. Hubby and I swapped office space so my week will be trying to clean up the messed we made doing so.
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer! It’s lovely to see your beautiful roses and tea cups. This week I will do a bit of gardening and cleaning…along with a doctor appointment, I’m expecting a small delivery and a repairman visit. There always seems to be something to do at our house…inside and out. I walk everyday, my husband rides his bike everyday. I love the helpful chart…I need to declutter! Thank you. I wish you a wonderful week, Virginia
ReplyDeleteI like those declutter tips. Sounds very reasonable. The roses are beautiful. The Royal Albert china is lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThose are great tips on that meme. I need to re-implement some of them. I was doing so well when we were moving constantly. Now that we're settled, I seem to be collecting more and more again.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are so pretty and so are the teacups. I know you've told us before but I forget, how many do you have?
I hope your day is going wonderfully.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Looks like this week will go from hot to wet. We can use the rain, but I don't expect much. The World Cup match here on Friday might get rained on, but Wednesday's should be just right. And USA plays in LA on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteHouse work and laundry are in progress today.
Do you suppose summer will actually come with some warm weather?
ReplyDeleteI like your flowers, and your dishes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer Wishes.
ReplyDeleteI do like your rose, what a beautiful colour.
All the best Jan
Beautiful roses. Bad weather for the rest of the week so I will get some cleaning time in
ReplyDeleteCathy
Beautiful Roses. I had one little bloom on one of my potted roses, and Rosebud, my deer friend ate it for a snack. They don't seem to bother the old but beautiful climber though, never have. I wonder why. I cut that back last year and we did not get any blooms this year. Our weather has been lovely, cool, and early fallish. I am not a fan of heat, but the garden loves it. I'll be cleaning up the kitchen today, wiping down cupboards, and cleaning the stove. Good weather for it. I've got some Curtido fermenting and am making some Kefir for the first time.
ReplyDeleteHello Friend. I've had a busy couple of weeks and haven't done much blog reading at all, but I just spent some time catching up on what's been going on here in your space. That rose is gorgeous. It must smell so good when you step outside. And what a lovely way to display your teacups. Do you have several of those displays throughout your home?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed viewing all of the flowers in your previous post also. You certainly have a green thumb! xx
