The water problem has been fixed and we're back to normal around here. After the 'trauma' of the whole scary episode DH offered to drive me and eldest daughter to the plant shop. He knows how we love going there. I found lovely autumn arrangements in shallow planters. This is what our cart looked like.
I've put almost all my plants on the porch where I hope they'll thrive and bloom for months. Maybe some will even make it through the winter. I'm especially fond of Purple Fountain Grass and that's rated zone 9 and warmer while we're zone 7 so we'll see how it fares on the enclosed porch.
The place is out in the country and has goats and chickens that children ( and adults) enjoy watching.
This is how I arranged my new plants on the porch. On the window sill I put three mixed planters The wagon is from my birthday last year. The milk can is one Shannon painted.
It's another beautiful sunny day, it will be too hot to do much outside so I'll find things to do indoors. I hope your day is a good one.
Thanks for visiting
What an amazing place. π I love ❤️ seeing your cart full. Shannon did a wonderful job painting the milk can. Beautiful ❤️ The goats π are delightful π
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that your water problem has been fixed and things are back to normal.
ReplyDeleteA lovely trip to the garden centre, I do like your wagon it's perfect for holding the plants.
Enjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
Your trolley was certainly full!
ReplyDeleteI used to take my mom to a place called "Plants and Things" in Brenham. She loved walking along every row, looking at everything, but she usually bought vegetable plants for her garden. She was so happy gardening and looks like you are, too!
ReplyDeleteWow that's a great selection of plants. Glad to hear the water issue is fixed.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite tearoom, sadly closed now, had a big picture window overlooking a gently sloping field with some Shetland ponies, sheep, donkeys, hens and even ducks in the stream. You could make a pot of tea and a cheese toasty last for hours while you watched all the activity outside!
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderful women in a shpo with wonderful flowers and plants! Your DH's idea also is wondeful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine veranda with all the colored bowls and flowers! The wagon and the milk can are very nice! Have a good late summertime in these warm days - autumn is giving good inspirations!
I'll be glad to see Fall appear! I love Spring and Fall...
ReplyDeleteLove your plants!
hugs

What a nice husband you have. My husband would have said, do I have to go?? : ) You have arranged them all so pretty. It will soon be time to start moving my potted plants around and finding places for them this winter. You look so pretty. Love seeing pictures of you and your family.
ReplyDeleteGardeners always love visiting plant shops!
ReplyDeleteYour porch with new plants looks lovely. Now you need to go sit there.
ReplyDeleteWe are experiencing a cool down here, on-shore flow and coastal fog. Kinda' nice since I am cooking todays for our annual Phosie Gertie picnic tomorrow at the Whidbey cabin.
I love a visit to the plant shop. Your cart looks full of good things!
ReplyDeleteI will not buy much of anything from here on in as our winter will settle in and nothing lasts during that.

So glad things are back to normal—and what a sweet, thoughtful gesture from your DH after a stressful time. There’s nothing like a trip to the plant shop to soothe the soul. Those autumn arrangements sound (and look!) absolutely beautiful. Enjoy bringing a little bit of the season indoors! ππͺ΄π
ReplyDeleteYou found nice plants. I must put planters on our windows sills for Autumn. I am glad your water problems are fixed! Happy September !
ReplyDeleteThat was great therapy toward recovery from the trauma of flooding! I wish I had some place like that to keep plants indoors in the winter. I put them on the floor near windows at the front and back of the house, which is not too convenient, and makes watering a little tricky. I'll look forward to seeing pictures of your new treasures as they grow through the year.
