Thank you for all the concern for us during this "rain event". There was a brief lull in the rain yesterday and today so far rain has been light. However, 50 to 75mm are forecast for tomorrow and another 15-20 on Wednesday. Here in town there are some streets closed due to deep puddles but the main problems are out of town and in the industrial areas. Rural properties and many farms are flooded. We have not been affected so far. The power was out for an hour this morning but I don't know what caused it.
We celebrated DH's 83rd birthday yesterday. Eldest daughter took him out for breakfast. The other 4 dropped by in the afternoon. Eldest son came to show us his new car! I didn't get a picture where he parked it but this is exactly what he was driving.
Preparations for Christmas continue. Here are a few pictures so far.
Thanks for visiting.

I hope the birthday was a great succeess, so nice to have family dropping by.
ReplyDeleteHappy 83rd Birthday to your husband!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your DH! And, that is a nice car :)
ReplyDeleteO still rain! The climate is crazy. Here in the Bavarian Forest and all over in Germany it is since two weeks or more very quiet and very foggy during the whole day and night. But I prefer fog - not so much rain, please! I hope, that you will have better weather on Christmas 🌲
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas-decorations are very nice!
The car of your eldest son looks extraterrestrial :)
My congratulations and best wishes for your DH 🥮

All the best Jan
The flooding is very worrying. We have it often here in West Virginia, not where I am but in many places along rivers, and it is so disastrous.
ReplyDeleteThe car is stunning. What a ride!
Please tell your DH I said Happy Birthday! 83 years, something to celebrate for sure!
Thank you for the update on the flooding situation. I lived through a flood in 1987...at that time I lived in the basement of a duplex, a rental. I lost everything!
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you, I am glad you are okay, and I hope you continue to stay safe.
Happy Birthday to your husband! Your Nativity is beautiful! And I love the sweet little Christmas tea you have set up! So darling.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have escaped the flooding.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your husband. Tom is 84 and I am 81, so it sounds like we are in the same aging category. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe had a levy breach on two rivers here in the area yesterday. More flooding in the lowlands, but repairs are keeping most of it under control.
Belated birthday greetings to your husband. How nice that all the kids came by to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas decor looks so pretty. I really enjoyed the little glimpses you shared.

I hope you continue to escape the terrible flooding.
“Good for your son — that’s a great‑looking car! All your Christmas decorations look wonderful, and I really enjoyed seeing the little tea party. I’m glad to hear you haven’t been in harm’s way with the flooding, and I hope the weather improves soon. Mr. D is also 83 years young, Happy Birthday to your DH!”
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas decorations, especially the Creche! Hope your rain totally slows down and stops soon. Happy Birthday to your Hubs. The years go so quickly, don't they? Mine turned 82 this year. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you're safe and dry. Do be careful when you out and drive safe. God bless you and Merry Christmas. 🎄🎄🎄🎄
ReplyDeleteOh the rain and the wind last night were terrible. But this morning is blue sky, a bit breezy, and no rain! I'm thankful for the lull. Happy Birthday to your husband!

ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful that you haven't been flooded out. What a difficult thing to have happen right at Christmas! I hope you are going to bake up a storm for all those lovely family members :) Merry Christmas! Your creche looks quite a lot like mine, that Adam made for us almost 35 years ago.
