We knew that raccoons were coming at night and looking for anything they could find near the compost bin but last evening when it was still bright out we had a cheeky one come right up to the house and check out Kitty's dish. I quickly went for my camera but he was too quick so the picture is from the internet.
Today's weather was so pleasant. 22C with a breeze meant puttering outside was comfortable. Tomorrow's forecast is for 26* then the week begins with hot days (nearing 30C)
Nothing much has been happening, certainly nothing worth blogging so here's something I saw on Facebook Marketplace.
1949 Chevrolet caprice for a mere $4,500. Are you tempted? I like the looks of the old cars but just think of coping with no power steering, no power anything including no A/C. No thanks.
That's it for today. Thanks for visiting.
Thanks for sharing your raccoon story! The car is beautiful but I use public transit so it is a definite no from me. :) Here in Montreal, we had gorgeous temperatures yesterday, but today is hot and humid and will get very bad tomorrow and Monday according to the forecast. We have a warning for tomorrow, so I just plan to stay in and do some work in my apartment. I enjoyed Friday so much, I took a lovely long walk! I took several photos during this walk with my cellphone, which I will be sharing in my next blog posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing, and stay hydrated and safe. :)
He's definitely one cheeky raccoon. We had a lot of them at the house we lived in for two years here in Omaha. They would practically walk up to you. Kind of scary.
ReplyDeleteI, too, like the modern conveniences in our cars but I too like to look at the old cars and admire them.
Have a wonderful Sunday my friend.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Your raccoons must be the equivalent of our urban foxes. They are so brazen... trotting round our streets at all times of the day and night on the scrounge.
ReplyDeleteLovely words from Psalm 90.
ReplyDeleteLove that car! Yes, I am tempted...but no power steering? That would not be easy. We've been spoiled.
ReplyDeleteWe have a raccoon that lives in a tree out back in the woods. We see him leave at night and come home in the morning. We've named him Rocky.
ReplyDeleteI like looking at the old cars too. :)
I like the look and the nostalgia factor of old cars, but, yes, dealing without all of the modern amenities is no fun.
ReplyDeleteOld cars often look nice, but there are lots of shortcomings!
ReplyDeleteBut aren't racoons cute!! I've never been that crazy about old cars except maybe a Corvette! :)
ReplyDeleteOld cars are a lot of work. My Dad used to love working on them. Raccoons are all over the place around our farm. They sometimes cause a bit of trouble!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great old car but not for me. I hope your racoon is not getting into anything important.

I so agree about A/C in a vehicle! An absolute necessity! After hubby restored his '59 Chevy I quickly realized how much was not a part of the "package" in those years!

My Dad had an old Chevy like that!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the car brought back so many memories, GM. It's what my dad had, only his was a dark color. My most memorable thing about it was when we were going to visit someone. Mother always got me ready first so while she and Daddy were getting ready, I asked if I could go just sit in the car. I was given permission along with the stern instructions that I was not to touch any of the gears or buttons. My disobedience apparently put the car in neutral, and we stopped when the car came in contact with the garage.
ReplyDeleteI love the old cars, each company had a distinct style and you could recognize them so easily, not like today where they all look the same. But, like you, I want my a/c and automatic steering and any other bells and whistles they offer.
ReplyDeleteLove the raccoon picture we don’t have them here. The old car are very nice to look at but not to drive!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming post! The sight of the raccoon and the story behind the old car really highlight how even unused or worn-out vehicles can carry memories. For those with ageing vehicles sitting idle, services like cash for scrap cars Caboolture offer a practical way to responsibly dispose of them while putting a bit of money back in your pocket. It's a win for both the environment and your driveway.
