Reflections in the lake at Willband.
My effort to keep the pink Hydrangea from burning in the July sun. You can see the one flower in front is burnt where the sheet didn't cover. I should have found a king-sized sheet!
The body shop still can't find a side panel for our truck ( after DH was side-swiped in a roundabout
(traffic circle). Meanwhile insurance provides us with a nice car but we'd really like our truck back.
Otherwise it's a quiet Sunday. It's hot and the forecast is for even hotter this coming week.
I hope your Sunday is a pleasant one. Thanks for visiting.
Beautiful photos and lovely reflections. We got a severe thunderstorm here in Montreal but it did little to relieve the intense 🥵 🔥 and humidity. Thank you 😊 so much for sharing this post.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday! Looks like your sheet is working to shield the blooms:)
ReplyDeleteLovely reflections ...
ReplyDeleteOh for cooler weather ... here in the UK we've been experiencing heatwave temperatures...it's TOO HOT
My good wishes for the coming week.
All the best Jan
With all the heat, a dip in that pretty lake would be refreshing! I hope you get your truck back soon. My hydrangeas are just beginning to bloom here in the mountains. Thanks for the tip about the sheet. I never would have thought to do that.
ReplyDeleteYour quote is so true, other people's stories help one keep on trucking. Speaking of which I hope they fix your truck soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a helpful idea to give this shadow to the lovely plant! The sea-mirror is like a beautiful painting. I see the heat! A car somehow is also a family-member - - -
ReplyDeleteI would have never thought to cover them!! You have the neatest tips!
ReplyDeleteHappy week friend!
hugs
Donna
I love pictures that show the reflection of scenery in the water. Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about missing your truck. A car is nice and I'm thankful for it, but we would be lost without our truck.
The quote at the end is something that I want to write down! Thanks so much for sharing.
We had a bit of relief from the heat and humidity over the weekend but it's back again today. I'm glad your sheet worked, (on the covered flowers). Stay cool.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
During the 1980's--1990's I worked in an auto body repair shop, mostly in the office and on the road for errands. Some makes of vehicles were easier than others to source the metal 'body parts.' Parts for popular models/makes could usually be had from a local dealership within a few days. At other times we waited for something shipped from overseas. I can recall a few customers who phoned to berate us for slowness in repairs, and didn't believe the information that we had to wait for shipment and delivery of parts.
ReplyDeleteWe get so comfortable in our familiar vehicles that driving a 'loaner' even a nice one, is frustrating. I hope you will soon have your truck restored!
NICE reflections. At least you saved most of your blooms. Nice car but I know what you mean about wanting your own vehicle!!
ReplyDeleteHot there too? The whole country seems to be burning up. I didn't know hydrangeas needed protection like that. I have a pink one, but it blooms so late i guess it's not a problem for me
ReplyDeleteI just learned today that those plants prefer part sun. Sorry about your truck.

I'm suffering the heat, too. Our days have been in the 100's and 90's. I love this weather when I was young, but now it drains my energy. Do your best to stay cool my friend :)
ReplyDeleteWe also had a good Sunday, all was quiet and peaceful. Sure hope you're able to have your truck back soon.
ReplyDeleteHi GM! I hope your truck part arrives soon! Kelli and I are headed up to your area soon. I hope we don't roast! Your poor hydrangeas!
ReplyDeleteWe are having similar problems with my husband's truck. Things like this are always a pain!
