This and That

3C this morning with a light rain.  Not many people out walking on this Monday morning.
As usual I'm doing laundry. Later I plan on making a cheesecake but I want to make it in the later afternoon so I can use the oven to make an oven supper once the cheesecake is done. Do you try to use your oven for more than one thing if  possible?

The power outage yesterday meant that we played our usual Sunday afternoon Domino game with no light on. This worked out fine until around 4 when we began to have trouble seeing so we lit some candles. A first...Dominoes by candlelight.

Nothing much else to blog about so .....

I thought I'd show you this teacup in a rather Autumn-ish colour. The cup made by Paragon.

Some facts about tea.....

For nearly five thousand years, people have been enjoying tea. Discovered in China, it is currently the one of the most popular beverages worldwide, second only to coffee.
There are several different types including black, oolong, green, and white. They all come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, but the difference lies in how the leaves are treated after they are harvested

Thanks for visiting!!

  1. We typically use the ovenfor more than one thing, when possible. Mainly because that is just how the schedule works out. Hubby does the cooking and I do the baking. Once is usually followed by the other as we just happen to be in the kitchen at the same time. That is such a pretty tea cup and saucer. Tea is my preferred beverage these days.

  4. Cheesecake sounds good and yes, I do try to use my oven former than one thing. I have to admit, I detest green tea and much prefer black. That was a bit awkward when I was in Japan as they drink green tea all of the time. Apparently it's very healthy, but that still didn't change my mind.

  5. Laundry is still on process here. Currently 51 F with the sun peeking through scattered clouds.
I have gone thorough periods of time when I enjoyed tea, and I have a small collection of tea pots, mostly for some large tea parties I have hosted. Most people in my circle would rather have coffee though.
The outside is a mess here after the windy and stormy weekend. No damage though. We'll take our time cleaning up, since there is more to come down from the cedar trees and the maples.

  8. Sí abuela, de esta manera ahorraremos energía. Sin embargo, deben tener el mismo tiempo de cocción y la misma temperatura. Algunos chefs dicen que se pueden cocinar platos dulces y salados juntos.

  11. Interesting information about the history and leaves of tea! I LOVE tea! I prefer black tea with ginger. Your autumn-teacup is very nice. Domino with candle-light: Romantic :) The importance of electric energy we see, when it is away......

  12. I have just ordered teas from The Proper Tea Company! I like to use loose tea in a teapot, and drink from a larger 'breakfast' cup and saucer as opposed to an ordinary tea cup and saucer. It's a little daily ritual, setting out the tra tray.

  14. I never learned to play dominos. It is fun occasionally, to light candles when the power is out. That is a pretty fall-looking teacup and saucer.
