Hydrangeas

The hot sunny days have been stressful for some of my plants especially  Hydrangeas. This red/white one that was given to me for Mothers Day gets morning sun but even that was too much it seems so I devised a bit of shade for her.

Endless Summer was also showing some sun damage so I draped a sheet over her as best I could. I think cooler weather is coming so I'll remove the cover which I realize is unsightly but at this point necessary.

Fortunately Annabelle can withstand more sunshine especially if she gets enough water.. If rain is imminent I will have to try to cover her somehow or those large mopheads will weigh her down and look awful.

In spite of the "bother" I enjoy my Hydrangeas.

Thanks for coming by.

  1. Hydrangeas are my favorite! I recently found caterpillars on one of mine. Had to go to the nursery and get a tea for it. Hope they do not spread.

  11. They are so beautiful and fluffy! I admit to have laughed at the umbrella, or "bumbershoot" as my Mom hilariously called them. You take very good care of your flowers.
    Blessings and hugs,

  14. Oh, she's absolutely gorgeous! 😍 That red-and-white combo is stunning—what a beautiful Mother's Day gift. And honestly? The fact that you rigged up a little shade for her just shows what a thoughtful plant parent you are. She's lucky to have you looking out for her! That extra care is going to pay off with even more blooms. You've got a real touch! 🌸

  17. I'm sure those flowers will receive the very best care, especially with the heat at the moment. I think we all need to take a little extra care of ourselves too. Hopefully neither you nor your flowers will be troubled too much by the heatwave. Stay cool and take care!
