I went out early to work in the garden, before the day became too hot. Even with the help I get from my grown children the weeds and overgrown plants are winning. I still enjoy the challenge and the flowers when they bloom. One thing I do not like is Miss Kitty lying in wait for unsuspecting birds. In an effort to prevent at least some of her tricks we put a wire circle as a baffle around the birdbath. For anyone who doesn't know about the cat that came to stay I'll just say that we never wanted an indoor cat so when Kitty showed up pregnant and starving having been abandoned we fed her and in due time she had her 5 adorable kittens. They all found homes and Kitty got spayed. Now she comes and goes as she likes but stays outside.
My flowers are doing great with all the sunshine. I do quite a bit of watering after supper. Isn't it amazing that the month is almost over? I know the 21st is officially Summer but for me the season starts at the beginning of June.
I have a number of pots of Carnations but this one is my favourite.
Thanks for visiting.

It is clear how much work and care you have put into your garden, and the result is wonderful. I hope the little cat is lovely company as well. And that really is such a beautiful message that it is not enough simply to work hard, but also to take the time to enjoy the fruits of our labor
ReplyDeleteI love that pot of carnations! And I'm amazed that your zinnias are going strong so early.... but I guess my garden is generally late this year. We are in the middle of a coolish period which doesn't help.
ReplyDeleteVery much work in gardens! Here we have a very hot weather, a heat dome and 40 degrees C that’s too much for me I stay inside. The cats coming from the neighbourhood also catch some of our sparrows I have to use our dog to keep them away.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. Have nice day!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe've had hot and today we have cool, then it will get hot again. I'm using the World Cup as an excuse to do a lot of sitting.
ReplyDeleteGardens are work but the payoff is well worth it.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I've said it before but I love your wild garden. I think it is perfect.
ReplyDeleteHope that fence keeps Miss Kitty from getting the birds.
You have some lovely flowers in your garden, that pot of carnations is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Your flowers look lovely!
ReplyDeletePretty flowers!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I catch the sweetness of blooms for Good Morning on the first day of summer on your blog, could there be anything more beautiful?
ReplyDeleteSummer greetings from my Slovenia and welcome to my blog, hugs, Andreja!
What a beautiful garden area - I can imagine myself sitting there with my chilled wine or iced tea. Sweet Kitty, just doing her natural thing, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful. And remember what the text on the last picture says! :)
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are so pretty. Putting the fence around the bird bath is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThose cartoons are really pretty. Sometimes a "not perfect" garden is the best. My favorites have always been wild gardens. I hope the wire baffle is helping to keep Miss Kitty at bay. I'm glad she found a home with you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
