Another lovely morning. After our walk DH went on to his "job" and I puttered happily outside for an hour watering and tying up various perennials. The last of the lilacs came in as well as the very first Iris.
I had a very pleasant day on Sunday and at some point I saw all 5 of the grown children ( as well as 4 grands). Second Son, the one who likes to bake, gifted me a recipe of Orange Scones. They are very delicious. When he bakes he actually follows the recipe, not like his haphazard mother. Consequently his baking always ( well, almost always) turns out.
The forecast is for a very warm afternoon. I plan on getting things done in the morning so I can be a lady of leisure in the afternoon. What are your plans?
Thanks for coming by

Orange scones must be good. I make cheese scones also. Your last picture I agree SO true!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a wonderful Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a son who likes to bake. Neither of mine have those tendencies.
Your lilacs and iris are so pretty. I am trying to imagine the scent coming from the lilac.
The lilacs and Iris look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI do like the words in your last meme.
All the best Jan
That orange scone looks delicious! Lilacs are such fleeting flowers, especially in warmer temperatures. But how pretty they are. I received a bouquet of lilacs and irises for Mother's Day and love the scent as I walk by.
ReplyDeleteLilac what a simple, beautiful joy. They fill a room with their scent. Scones look very good I’ve only made them one or two times, I should do that more often.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Orange scones sound delish. How sweet that you got to see all of your children on Mother's Day. I only have two and they do not live close by. I saw only one through FaceTime.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I cut some lavender from a bush in the field but they have lost their scent quickly. I think I waited too long. The last meme is very appropriate.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Sounds like a lovely Mother's Day seeing all your children. Bet the scone is delicious.
ReplyDeleteSo very true those words in the picture!!
Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteNOW I learn, that you have FIVE adult children! A crown for you!đŸ‘‘
ReplyDeleteI make my concentrated work and housework better in the morning till late midday. In the afternoon I spend my time with my sweet animals. "Holidays on the farm" ::::::
I'm so glad that you had a lovely Sunday! I had phone calls from both of our adult children.
ReplyDeleteYour scone looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteWell, I see I am two days late! Its been a great week so far and Mother's Day was OK at work. Daughter brought flowers and a card, second son will stop by today. I am getting lots of spring chores done in the beautiful weather here. Love, love, love irises. That was the color of them I had in my wedding, as well.
ReplyDeleteThe last words are so true…thanks for sharing. So nice to see your flowers and scones…life is good! Happy day to you…

ReplyDeleteNo lady of leisure here, I am afraid. But don't i wish!
