It's cloudy and cool this morning. I had planned on spending an hour hoeing weeds but showers are forecast and any weeds I hoe will most probably pop right back up when they get wet. Yesterday was sunny and very warm. Eldest came and together we worked until we got too warm. Then we sat in the shade.
My pictures are from yesterday's walk. The lake is slowly getting covered with water lilies again.
Can you see the turtles?
Remember the Apple cake I baked on Tuesday? The second half of the cake was in the pantry in a tightly covered container and when I opened it it was sitting in juice that had formed from all
the apples (?) It was unappetizingly wet so I put it in the air fryer for a while. DH declared it even better than when it was just baked.
Since my plans have had to change I think I'll settle for a day of puttering. A lot of small odd jobs get done on such a day. Things no one else notices but I do.
Thanks for coming by

Puttering sounds good to me!
ReplyDeletePuttering. Not a word I've used often, but I think I prefer it to pottering!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the lake. Yes, I see the turtles! Interesting that the cake did that, and I never would have thought to put it in the air fryer. Smart GM!!
ReplyDeleteThis time of year I tend to get uncomfortably warm working outside so the first thing I thought this morning was, It’s a garden day lol. I trimmed back the big boxwood; now I can see how much more there is to do 🤪
ReplyDeleteGreat job on saving the apple cake. 🍎
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful. It is cloudy and cool here in Montreal, Canada as well.
Oh, yes, that juicy apple cake situation happens to me, too! Having my eldest come help me in the yard and then sit in the shade with me sounds grand. I feel like I have never had a real adult sit and talk convo with him. Maybe I will suggest that we do that!
ReplyDeleteI am good at puttering too!
ReplyDeleteI often enjoy puttering days.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
All the best Jan
what a good idea...to put that cake in the air fryer! I wouldn't have thought of that! Love the little puttering pic!
ReplyDeleteHello, Friend. Those days when we have change of plans can still flow nicely, can't they? I hope you were able to get your small, odd jobs accomplished.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great save for the apple cake! Dealing with changes is a constant in life.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the warmer weather soon returns - it's chilly here!
Puttering can be very productive! I do see the turtle; he seems to be enjoying a pretty sunny day.

ReplyDeleteI have never used an air fryer... I just haven't caught the air-fryer bug yet. Who knows, maybe I will soon.
ReplyDeletePuttering is my favorite thing to do!
ReplyDeleteIn cooking, there are always ways to reshape and reinvent things. It sounds absolutely delicious and those little turtles are so beautiful!

I loved the Puttering picture, I think I am a "putter" :) Exciting to see the turtles. We don't have that here in our river!!
ReplyDeleteI loved to putter. I did that around the camper yesterday while Piper and Papa went to the hot springs pool again. For hours. I enjoyed my time of cleaning and doing laundry.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
