I'm still having issues with my computer and this is my third attempt at a post so I hope this will work. What's happening is that for no known reason suddenly my screen goes blank and I lose whatever was on it. My son assures me it is not a virus. In fact, when he stood here and watched me just now of course nothing bad happened. Don't you hate it when that happens?
Anyway, I wanted to show my lovely Japanese Iris, the one I bought a couple of weeks ago. The other one is similar but blue where this one is purple.
In my kitchen... local strawberries are available now and they're so sweet. Maybe a little on the small side but it has been very dry so that may be the reason.
This is actually a glass paper weight. Just bought it today at the thrift store and I love it.
Also bought this simple blouse which I can only hope fits because there was no way I could try it on with my arm in a cast. But it does look nice and roomy.
The red T shirt was too pretty to leave there. Only cost me a dollar.
I hope your week is off to a good start. Hard to believe we're in the second half of June already. Teachers and students alike are counting the days now. Doesn't make as much difference to those of us that are retired. I'm trying to spend as much time outside as I can, after all, all winter I wait for the sunshine and warm weather.
Thanks for visiting. Granny Marigold
I like your two tops!
ReplyDeleteI had a good thrifting morning yesterday, and then made a quick dash back there today to get a big chair for 50 cents! Which is your favourite thrift store?
ReplyDeleteI'd be hard put to say which is my favourite. I like VV because of the 30% discount on Tuesdays but I also go regularily to the MCC stores. Have yet to find anything much at the Sally Ann. How about you? Which do you prefer?
DeleteMCC west is my favourite by far. I like that one colour tag is 50 cents each week, and that they put most of those 50 cent clothes on one long rack. There is always another colour tag that is 50% off. Rarely miss one of their end of the month half price sales. I also visit the big new MCC, Bibles for Missions, and Life's Second Chance quite a bit, but haven't been in the SA in Abb. for ages. Also like to check out a few things in V V on Tuesdays, but generally their prices are quite high, but then the selection is much bigger. The SA in Aldergrove is decent, although their clothes are rarely on sale. I have bought a few sewing machines there and fabric and oddball stuff that have been a good find. I do love my thrift stores!
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely selection of bargains you found; I love that gorgeous glass paperweight . . . and the blue, flowered blouse especially.
ReplyDeleteI also adore that Iris - what a beauty. Such a pity that their flowers don't last very long; my own new Iris had five beautiful bright blue blooms, but they have withered and died now. I love my garden - it's only small but every inch is crammed with plants - and the lawn shrinks to accommodate any new plants that I couldn't resist buying! I live in Cornwall (UK) on the edge of Bodmin Moor, with my Collie dog Zac.
I have a hard time resisting a paperweight, and yours is lovely:)
ReplyDeleteI need to visit your thrift store! You find such pretty things! Maybe I need to go more often. Those strawberries look sweet and delicious, much better than those half green ones we buy in the grocery stores here.
