Daylilies and Hydrangeas

It's another beautiful sunny day and I am at a loss what to post so I will post about the various daylilies I have blooming now.

Hydrangeas are also at their best now except those that lean too far into the sunshine and get burnt.

Last year I draped the pink one with an old sheet and I still might do that if the 34C temperatures forecast for next week come to pass. It's sad to see the lovely flowers frizzle in the sun.

I saw this cartoon and I thought if that were me I would have marked the thrift stores instead of quilt shops :)

Thanks for visiting.

  2. Putting a sheet on your hydrangea is a good idea I might use. I transplanted two early this year and they are doing so well, but I have been concerned about the blooms with the heat.

  3. You have some beautiful flowers my friend. We have the very, very hot temperatures too but have had lots of rain so it looks like a jungle out there! Grass is growing so fast.
Love the last meme. Mine would be yarn shops!
    Blessings and hugs,

  4. My hydrangeas are wilting by the end of the day in the heat. You have some very lovely day lilies. Have a good weekend!

  5. Your flowers are very beautiful, Granny Marigold!
We have the same problem here with the sun,
    it literally burns them...
I wonder if this happened in the old days or is it a result of climate change....

  6. 🌼🌺🌸🌹🌻💖 So wonderful different lilies - what a precious garden you have! I LOVE the different colors of your hydrangeas. What a pity, when too strong sun makes them too early brown.

  11. You have a wonderful collection of day lilies. We have some of them too.
When we were making glass flowers, we would stop at every thrift shop along the way to anywhere, looking for glass pieces. It was fun.

  13. You have such a nice selection of daylilies and the profusion of hydrangea blooms is lovely. Several of the leaves on my hydrangeas are sun scorched. It's been so hot and humid.

  19. Daylilies take center stage here in late June, have now passed their peak beauty with days of 90+ F. It seems we look forward to summer--then after two weeks of it we are over the heat and longing for cooler temps.
