Touches of Pre-Fall Decor

We're enjoying a few cooler days before the expected heat of the coming week. It's going to be a very noisy weekend because of the annual Air Show ( which is the biggest air show in Canada and attracts a lot of people to our area).

I took advantage of the coolness yesterday and baked. I made Bran muffins and also Peach muffins. The I did a bit of pre-Fall decorating. This tiny bouquet was all that was left of the bouquet I received  last week. That little pumpkin is a leftover from last year.  Surprisingly it never went soft or rotted.

I picked this garland of leaves up at the thrift store . Rather than put it away for a few weeks I hung it right away. It fit perfectly over the opening to the sunroom from the dining area.   You can just make out in the back  the garland I then hung in the sunroom.

Later today the new washer will be delivered ( and the old one taken away by the same guys).

Meanwhile I must get going and do some much needed tidying.

Thanks for coming by

  1. Good Morning! I'm sorry I haven't been around to comment much lately. Internet hasn't cooperated on our travels very well. I wrote a post five times this morning! Each time Blogger "redacted" it whatever that means and then deleted it. I'm frustrated. But at least I have internet to comment again.
I hope you LOVE your new washer. That's an important thing. And I really like your new garlands. It's been so hot everywhere we've been on this trip. Today we're in Buffalo, WY and it's only supposed to be 70 and we're enjoying it. We have a quiet day at the campground to catch up on a few things. Tomorrow we're heading for the Black Hills in SD again. Last night we had dinner with Dennis's cousin and his wife who we haven't seen in about 25 years! That was really nice.
    Take care my friend.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Oh my, I'm nowhere near ready to think of Fall yet though I see that the stores are all set up with their fall wares. Even the local thrift store has Halloween costumes out already. Sadly, when I am in the garden, I hear the honking of the juvenile geese that are now practicing their flights overhead and I realize that fall will quickly be upon us and after fall comes our endless prairie winter.

  6. Amazing that the pumpkin stayed good after all that time.
I'm not ready for fall yet, but we don't have those very hot temperatures.

  8. We are going into a multi-day heat wave not my favorite for sure. I do love your fall decor. I am seeing signs of fall everywhere here. I think your wildfires are covering our sun enough that nature thinks it is fall.

  9. I love Fall decorations. Yours look lovely. Ours won't appear until September sometime! So far our August is hotter than July.

  10. I've noticed some of the trees on our street are stressed from the incredibly hot/ dry summer we've had and the leaves are turning yellow. So it feels a bit like fall. Hope you like your new washer. (C)

  11. I am trying to think Fall too, for my booths. But not for my home, yet. It is hard to get in that mindset when it's so hot!
The muffins sound very good. I rarely make them as they go stale before we can eat them all. Last time I made them i froze most, and that way I didnt waste any.

  12. I can't possibly think of fall! Or even pre-fall :-( I'm still hoping for several more weeks of summery weather -- but then, I guess we do usually get that and probably you don't. I don't have any pumpkins or winter squashes ripening on the vine this year, either, so no reminders of the coming season. Summer is not going anywhere yet.

  14. I think a lot of people are ready for fall. It's very cool here now but the temps will rise by the end of the week next week. Just keeps you guessing what each day will be like.

  15. I am itching to add some fall cozy to my home! I was just thinking this past week - is it too soon? Its not like anyone sees it but me, so I think not! I will switch some things out this week. (:

  16. Augtober, I love that! Your fall decor looks great, I am so ready to do the same. Out temps are still so hot I can't seem to get myself motivated to do much. Peach muffins, those sure sound yummy! Hope you're having a great day☺♥

  20. That's amazing that your little pumpkin is still good after all this time. We have been having so many dark, rainy days that I have begun to feel like it's time to bring out the fall decor. So far I have resisted, but I will admit to going into the cupboard and looking at it a few times. Your fall touches look lovely.

  21. It seems that this year has triggered anticipation of autumn even more than usual! We have had such a hot, humid summer, but last week was cooler and we had some lovely "summer" days to enjoy. Yet I am itching to decorate for autumn , and cook for autumn, and plan activities for autumn. I like your autumn touches. Blessings!
