Our weather has changed and we are having a very damp and chilly day. The forecast is for more showers in the days to come. It almost feels like a "turn up the heat" day. How quickly we went from fans and A/C to this.
Yesterday we went to Willow Farm where we've gone for so many years to pick apples in their fields.
We didn't feel up to a lot of walking ( on uneven ground) so we stayed close to the main buildings, walked around looking at animals and chickens, browsed in the little shop. All we bought was a gallon of their apple cider. It's very good 🍎🍎🍎
lots of goats

Grandson C, according to his itinerary , is on the train to Bristol today and will fly to Budapest on Tuesday the 30th. This is the only picture I've gotten so far of him. Maybe now that his gf is also there she'll take more. She has family in Poland and they will be spending time with them as well as visiting many different cities. I believe they will be in Poland about ten days.
Seeing as it is too wet to be outside I will do some much needed housework today. Do let me know how you plan on spending this last Friday of September.
THANKS FOR COMING BY
Hope your grandson has a safe jouney. I spent this Friday removing Summer clothes from drawers, replacing them with Winter clothes and donating a lot to Charity shop!
ReplyDeleteIn the photo, C is staring lovingly at a sausage roll that he called "one of the best things I've ever eaten", purchased at London's Borough Market, which apparently has roots going back 1000 years! - Sheila
ReplyDeleteI wish your grandson happy travels and a safe arrival! I love this post, your photos are so beautiful and enchanting! Autumn is a wonderful time of year! Renewal, refreshing, celebration of God's beauty! Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteStill quite humid here. Damp cold is much harder than just cold I think! God bless you!! 🫂
ReplyDeleteWe're still having nice temperatures, and there's sun in the forecast every day for the next week.
ReplyDeleteThe visit to the farm looks like it was a lot of fun. Your grandson is on an exciting trip. Wishing him fun and safety!!
ReplyDeleteI like the updates about your grandson's travels. We have had a lovely day with sunshine and cooler temps. No rain for today.
ReplyDeleteThe rain hasn't started here yet. They keep delaying it, so it looks like we'll have a dry weekend before rain comes Sunday night. That's good for all of the sports fans and people with outdoor plans, like us.
ReplyDeleteFriday here is breakfast with friends day, then grocery shopping and putting away. I am thinking of foods to cook in the oven again now.
The sun is shining but the furnace is on, since our downstairs doesn't get much radiant heat now.
I do like Autumn.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for sharing these photographs.
I've spent part of Friday seeing a friend, and had a very pleasant afternoon.
Here's to a happy weekend ahead.
All the best Jan
Like seeing the pumpkins growing scattered all over.
ReplyDeleteMy last Friday of the month was spent at church doing Fingerprints.
Around here, the trees are already showing the beginning of spring with small new leaves. You know? The ginkgo biloba, which my neighbor has, is an ancient tree native to China, known for being one of the oldest living fossils on the planet. It is the last to lose its leaves in autumn and the first to give them back to us.

It's fun following family and friends as they travel. I hope your grandson has a wonderful time in Budapest. This Friday we went out for breakfast with our youngest daughter and her husband as it's her birthday today. A little laundry and house cleaning followed. No rain here yet, but we certainly do need it. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've given in an put on a long sleeve vest under my autumn weight shirt... summer clothes are already heading to the back of the drawers and far end of the wardrobe. I don't do a massive clothes swap every year, they all stay in the chest of drawers or wardrobe all the time.
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish it would rain here. We got a ten minute rain on Monday, and the Google Lady didn't even acknowledge it.
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely Friday spent with 9 of my dear friends, later in the day I broke my healthy eating with pizza and diet Pepsi, two things that are a rarity in my normal diet. I do have to say that I did enjoy my indulging.
ReplyDeleteCome over and visit my latest blog post . . . I did it just for you :)
I worked in the garden!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to have all these children and grandchildren whose activities are forever interesting :-)
Sounds like Grandson C is on quite the adventure; hope they have a great time. Interesting seeing the field of pumpkins as there is no foliage to be seen, only tall grass! Here the weather is unseasonably warm so I am spending as much time as I have energy for in yard and garden cleanup. This past week has been rather stressful in that both my stove/range and my washer broke in unrepairable ways and went on to the happy hunting grounds of old appliances!

The pumpkins, goats, and chickens are beautiful to look at; it's a joy to be on a farm.
ReplyDeleteNext week I'm going to my farmer to buy rye for my bread and potatoes... and to see the geese :-))
Poland is one of my neighboring countries. There are some very beautiful cities there, and I especially love the Giant Mountains, which are near Germany in the border region between Poland and the Czech Republic.
Perhaps you'll have the opportunity to share some photos of your grandson C.'s trip later...
Best regards, Viola
