At just 15C this morning it really felt like Fall. Thursdays usually mean grocery shopping and we did that first thing. Can you tell what I'm planning to bake next?
Yesterday I took out all 26 of my mugs ( I have quite a collection). I recently acquired 2 more so I forced myself to put 3 in the thrift store box that is my ongoing donation box.
The one below was given to me on Sunday by GD Kate.
Look what's written in the bottom inside the mug? Isn't that the sweetest?
I picked this one up at the thrift store when I took the last box in. It has white polka dots on the blue interior and the mug itself is super large. Was it C S Lewis who said that in his opinion there couldn't be a cup too big him? He would have liked this one.
Thanks for visiting today
Beautiful ❤️ mugs. Thrift stores are great, we can find so many things at an affordable price.
ReplyDeleteLooks like pumpkin pie is on the menu. I was just thinking about pumpkin pie. I have a store bought pie shell in the freezer. However the last one I made, last winter, was crustless. I liked it that way.
ReplyDeleteThe mornings are very chilly but it warms up nicely. The perfect days. I broke a mug this morning I should be looking for a new one.

ReplyDeleteYou have some very nice mugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a 'Homebody' great meme/words.
All the best Jan
I love all your mugs Granny. We have a lot of them too...but I don't like to part with any of them. I guess I am a homebody. My traveling days are behind me and I do enjoy being at home. Thanks for your always great blog!
ReplyDeleteI hope your pumpkin jam turns out delicious. We eat it with fresh cheese.
ReplyDeleteHere ist also feels like autumn.. You plan to bake a cake with pumpkins? Nice hobby, your cup-collection! Sometimes a new cup is coming, and sometimes a cup is walking to another place. The big blue cup is lovely and makes every teatime to a healing medicine for the soul.
ReplyDeletePumpkin pie!! :)Your mugs are very nice. I'm a homebody too.
ReplyDeleteI like being a homebody:)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the largest mugs also! I might have 26 mugs, but at least ten of those are Christmas mugs, which I sometimes forget to bring out at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, pie!
ReplyDeleteGood idea to get your mugs in order for the coming season of hot drinks.
That's me, a homebody 🥰
ReplyDeleteYour mugs are lovely.
I have different mugs according to what I am drinking.
ReplyDeletePumpkin 🎃 pie? I saw it in French on the can “ citrouille “ I wish we had pumpkin pie cans but unfortunately we have to cut it which is very hard! Cute new mugs!
ReplyDeletePumpkin has been in use around here, too. I opened a can of it to make some overnight pumpkin cinnamon rolls and there was enough left in the can for a recipe of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and pumpkin waffles!
ReplyDeleteYou do have quite a collection of mugs. I used to, but I ran out of space...so now, I just limit myself to a different one for each of the four seasons. I love the one your granddaughter gave you...the message at the bottom of it makes it worth drinking the tea just to see the message!
I love being a homebody and those mugs are so cute. Especially the one from your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Oh, pumpkin pie sounds wonderful! I made pumpkin muffins the other day and they are already gone.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to your mug collection. I am constantly bringing in new ones from the thrift shops and donating other ones. The one from your GD is so special.
Yep, I know all about being a homebody. :)
Yes, pumpkin pie and I always like it with whipped cream.
ReplyDeletePumpkin pie 🥧 is always a treat! Love your mugs…I think they multiply in my cabinet on their own! So many lovely ones, makes it hard to let go to make room for new…love the one from your GD🩷… enjoy your weekend, Virginia 🌻
