While browsing on Pinterest I noticed a number of pretty kitchens that really appealed to me. I thought I'd share them here. I see that they all have painted cupboards. I wonder if that is what makes them look so cozy.? Our cupboards are oak and DH would consider painting oak as a sacrilege. Not that I don't like my kitchen but it doesn't have old-fashioned charm such as these do:
That's it for today. Thank you for visiting and leaving such nice comments. When I read them it's like I'm having a little visit with each of you.
These kitchens are super cute! I've never considered using yellow on cabinets before, but now I'm starting to rethink that. My husband is not going to be happy when I add another color sample to the list we already have for our kitchen, but there is no way I can pass it up now that I've seen these photos. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful kitchens. I love ❤️ green π and I like yellow π Great finds.
ReplyDeleteOh I like the yellow kitchens they are so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitchens for sure! I especially like the yellow ones. A lot of these while looking vintage I think at least some are new and quite costly! I think the light is what I love the most about them, with the simplicity and also a gas stove!
ReplyDeleteI could live with any of those kitchens, but the 4th one shown is my favorite. When my husband was building 'spec' houses -more than 20 years ago--it was my job to coordinate the kitchens. Painted cabinetry was just returning to popularity, and other than a kitchen with white cabinets we used various wood species in light natural finishes. The cabinetry in my current kitchen is a warm grey with a built in china cupboard in dark red.
ReplyDeleteI love every one of the kitchens you posted. ππ. From Fran❤️
ReplyDeleteI love these painted cabinets. Like you, I have oak cabinets. I can't bring myself to paint them!
ReplyDeleteThese are all such pretty kitchens, very cozy looking. I especially like the second one with the yellow cabinets and blue printed curtain. So airy.
ReplyDeleteGrandma, they say that renewing oneself is living. Don't be afraid to change the appearance of your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteA hug
I love all these kitchens. My kitchen is white and I love it. We had oak cabinets when we lived in town and I DID paint them all white. :)
ReplyDeleteHello! A lot of pretty kitchens! My (old) kitchen is the same color of the second kitchen, it was knotty pine for years, but I convinced my husband it would look great painted…and it does!… even has scallops on the top and bottom of the doors. (think of Ozzie and Harriet) I’m sure when we (finally) decide to move, the next folks will tear it all out and replace with something more modern..and that’s okay!
ReplyDeleteKitchens are the heart of the home, cozy comes from the cook!! And you sure turn out some yummy and cozy food from your kitchen! Thanks for the nice visit, have a lovely day. xox, Virginia
Those kitchens all have light colors of paint, too, and show windows. That makes things cheery!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of kitchens and yes, very welcoming and warm. You are so right...It is quite a scary venture to paint over wood cabinets but I am so happy that we took the plunge some years ago.

They are all nice. I have painted my kitchen cabinets with a very light grey this was quite a job!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I forwarded the mouse picture to a friend
ReplyDeleteI am so happy not to have painted my cabinets. I feel like nothing beats beautiful wood grain. They weren't "broke" so no fixing, ha ha. Maybe another thing that appealed to you with these photos is that they all include a window for natural light to pour through. Altho, I think the one with a rose bower draped across the cabinet doors is for sure AI. (:
ReplyDeleteThose kitchens are all so beautiful. I can definitely see why they appeal to you, the painted cabinets give them such a cozy, inviting feel. I've been noticing that trend too and it's something about the soft colors that just makes a kitchen feel so warm. It's funny how a single detail can change the entire mood of a room.

Wonderful kitchens. I have blue cupboards we built 38 years ago and they were just uncrating these blue stained cupboards. I loved them so much husband shook his head but we both love those cupboards more and more every day I swear.

Happy Hello!! I am stopping by from Acorn Hollow. I love these charming kitchens!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose Pinterest kitchens can be so inspiring! π΄✨ Painted cupboards definitely add a touch of warmth and charm, but oak has its own timeless beauty too. π Maybe some small changes like cozy decor or vintage accents could give you that old-fashioned feel without painting the wood. πΈ
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about painted cupboards, but I also can see your husbands side of the story. Oak is beautiful, but what I like best about oak is that it's strong, you do not have to worry about oak cabinets falling apart or needing replaced. I also noticed that you like the Belfast sinks; I too think they are lovely. Maybe someday you can talk your husband into painting your cabinets or you can add that country charm to your beautiful oak kitchen with the fabrics you choose in your curtains and rugs :)
ReplyDeleteI like these pained cabinets too. Maybebi should paint mine. The frame is already painted dark red, so it wouldn't be a big change really.
ReplyDeleteThose kitchens are all so comfy looking. I'd be hesitant to paint nice oak cabinets, too.
