Plants and a Puzzle

We took a quick trip to the plant shop.  My African Violets were all looking very sad and wilted. I replaced them with fresh ones that will no doubt bloom for a while then also slowly fade away. For some reason I can't make them thrive and rebloom.  I resisted all the other gorgeous plants.

I put the new violets in the sunroom where we're working on a puzzle. Yes, it's puzzle time again.

The weather was fairly pleasant today but the forecast for the week is for showers.  I have lots that I want to accomplish so no trouble keeping busy. Enjoy the last days of September!

Thanks for coming by.

  1. Beautiful photos and I love the "be happy on purpose" illustration! Your jigsaw puzzle looks like so much fun! Can I ask you what you are using to do the jigsaw puzzle on? Is it one of those trays than can be purchased?

  5. Be happy on purpose!! Love it. We will start puzzles once we get our first snow fall. Can you believe that the two African Violets I got last Nov from Connie (librarian) have never stopped blooming! They are huge!!

  7. You're making me remember the years when I had thriving African violets here, so much so that they needed dividing, and I ended up with more than would fit on my windowsill. I gave some away, and finally gave all of them away ... maybe they also weren't doing well at the end and I needed space both physical and mental. But I forgot all that when I first read your post and immediately got a bad case of plant envy!

  11. Your new African violets are beautiful. I used to have a kitchen windowsill full of them, but I am now down to one and it isn't looking its best either.

  12. I love Africa violets, I call them my pretty ladies. I water them from the bottom saucers, and the very best fertilizer of all is banana skins soaked in the water. I enjoy puzzles too, but usually I wait until winter before beginning one because I become entirely too tuned to the puzzle during the day!

  13. I don't have much success with African Violets either, but will indulge in a pot or two sometimes. No puzzles here quite yet, but the time is getting closer.
