Here we are at the beginning of another beautiful month. By the time it's over hopefully we'll all be enjoying flowers blooming outside and sprouting seeds on every windowsill indoors.
8C with a fine mist this morning. Lovely walk but fewer walkers than usual. Spring break is over so I was expecting more seniors walking now that child care is done (if they had to help in that department).
I had extra bananas and some digestive-type cookies that had sat around for a while so I made a Banana Pudding. It was my first try but after reading the different recipes I realized it was just cookies, banana slices and pudding layered with whipped cream on top. The above picture is one from on line. Below is the one I made and I think mine turned out very well. It was delicious.
I put out a few decorations on the bench by the front door. Easter seems late this year but apparently it can be as early as March 22 and as late as April 25.
from the 'net
Easter's date each year is determined by the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox (March 21st)
Thanks for visiting
That banana pudding looks absolutely delicious. Both of us really like banana pudding. It's really howling windy outside today. I'm really gettig tired of the wind here. It never seems to stop. I don't remember that from when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
April is a beautiful month, full of flowers and showers.
ReplyDeleteThe banana pudding sounds good.
Your banana pudding reminded me so much of my grandma. Anytime one of us kids would get sick, she always made us banana pudding. She used vanilla wafers in hers. Thank you for the memories. And I love the Winnie the Pooh quote...acceptance is definitely the key to difficult situations. xx
ReplyDeleteThe banana dessert looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have something called Banana Puding at school, which was horrid! I dont think there were many bananas in it!
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to make a banana pie like that - so delicious. Welcome to April - hopefully more sunny days than rainy ones.
ReplyDeleteI've made banana pudding with vanilla wafers before. Happy April and good walking days.
ReplyDeleteApril can so often be a wonderful month.
ReplyDeleteMy Easter Chicks and rabbits are on display at the moment ... I've had them a good number of years now ... family tradition!
All the best Jan
Banana pudding is so yummy! I'm planning to make some soon.
ReplyDeleteA special Family Heirloom sort of recipe for Banana Pudding was given to me several years ago, after I requested it, but I have never made it. I wonder if I could find or create a version that wouldn't be so rich... but probably I will just go on eating bananas straight!
ReplyDeleteI am not fond of banana pudding, but yours looks good, if I have it I want the bananas just ripe not brown:)
ReplyDeleteYour cake looks wonderful Granny Marigold,
ReplyDeleteand so do your decorations!

Thank you very much for the information about the time of Easter. I just knew, that there is a connection with the moon, now I learn details *:*:*:*:*:
It’s exciting to see April here! I’m sure the flowers will start showing up soon, and it’s always a nice feeling to see seeds sprouting on the windowsill. Your banana pudding looks delicious! I love how you improvised with what you had around – that’s the best way to experiment in the kitchen. The whipped cream on top must have been the perfect finishing touch. Also, I didn’t realize Easter could vary so much – thanks for sharing that! Wishing you lots of sunny days and good walks this month.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely start to April. I’m sure the flowers will start popping up any day now, and it sounds like you're already soaking in the beauty of the season with your walk. As for that banana pudding — it looks delicious! It’s always great when a recipe comes together so perfectly, especially when you’re using up what’s around the house. I love how simple and comforting it is. And those little touches with the decorations by the door are so sweet; it’s nice to make everything feel a bit festive for Easter. I didn’t realize Easter could vary so much in timing either — it’s always interesting to learn something new! Thanks for sharing this peaceful moment and your tasty treat with us.
ReplyDeleteHappy April!
ReplyDeleteBanana pudding is a big thing here in NC. I can't get too excited by it personally.
My birthday (April 19) has been on Easter a few times. I have read the description of how the date is chosen, but never seem to remember it from year to year.
Your banana pudding looks delish! Love the Easter decor. The bunny and little lamb are adorable.
