Monday Chit Chat

Monday morning once again ( they keep coming quicker than ever!). We're enjoying a lovely sunshine filled day which may very well be uncomfortably hot by mid afternoon. Oh well. It is July after all.

My Hollyhocks are loving the sun. So far I have 2 colours.

New Daylilies open every day. I have not had a lot of infected buds this year, thankfully. I try to be diligent in searching and destroying  them.

On the weekend we were walking on a path in Willband and this tiny head popped up from behind a rock beside the path. He looked at us then popped back down only to peek up a few feet away. He did this a number of times before running across the path and off on to his destination. From what I can see from images on the 'net he was a young weasel. He was so sleek and handsome. Who ever thought of a weasel in those terms? *smile*

Thanks for coming by today.

  1. Your photos are so beautiful! Here in Montreal it is rainy, but we really needed it and the temperatures are cooler so I am grateful. Weasels are cute. And I love the illustration with the laundry at the end of your post.

  2. Washing day here too. I'm glad we have machines now to do most of the work. Even with that I resent having to fold. :-)
I haven't found any lily bud galls this year either. I guess being diligent last year helped.
What a cute little weasel popping up.

  8. It's so lovely to have automatic washing machines these days! We made do with a spin dryer when we were first married, an automatic washing machine was the first thing on my list when we moved to a new house.

  9. I am so glad I don't have to do laundry like the lady in the first image. So much work, especially on a hot day. How beautiful your flowers are. Now it's Tuesday and you can relax with the washing done.

  11. Glad I don't have to hang out my laundry today. We had a doozy of a thunderstorm most of the night and everything is soaked. That weasel is cute. Who would have thought?

  18. I've never had daylilies. What do the buds get infected with?
Your hollyhocks are lovely. I'd love to try growing them again. I still have one plant, actually, but it is now behind a big bush and I don't think it ever gets enough sun to bloom anymore.
