Flowers

If you've been visiting my blog for any length of time you know I am very fond of flowers!!
Currently I have these Hyacinths in the kitchen, the taller one has grown too tall and has to lean against the window or fall over. The white one, tinged with green, is so far holding itself up. Both fill the kitchen with wonderful scent.

Knowing how I feel about flowers I'm often blessed with bouquets from one or another of my children.

Outside the only thing blooming now besides a few sad looking Snowdrops ( they don't grow well in my soil) there are  lots of Crocuses which we planted many years ago and which have been spread but also are smaller than they used to be. But I still love them.

It's a cloudy and chilly day. The forecast for the weekend is for better weather so that means I'll be out there puttering as much as I can.

PS... Diane from Wis_____ I'm sorry you have trouble seeing some of the images clearly but if you just click on the image it will get bigger.  Or, as someone once posted, it will embiggen. LOL

Thanks for dropping by

  2. I like flowers too. I think you know that. I saw a few crocus popping up through cyclamen voltage yesterday. We don't have many left, as they don't persist here.

  3. I adore hyacinths! They are so fragrant and pretty. I just picked up a pot of them yesterday from the grocery store. Can’t wait until they bloom and share their smell.

  4. Embiggen is my new favorite word, ha ha. Someone gave me a packet of wildflower seeds which I sprinkled with abandon...maybe I will have flowers, too. (:

  6. Oh, how i wish my kids were close enough to bring me flowers! Well, one is, but he never thinks of it. It is so sweet that yours do this for you. Makes me smile
I have been on the hunt for flowers that will bloom all summer, are drought resistant, and that the deer won't eat! I am finding a few, if the deer arent too hungry, that is: bergamot, coneflower, Lantana, coreopsis, butterfly bush, Shasta daisies have all proven to be pretty resistant. Almost anything in the mint family is not attractive to deer, and they don't like anything fuzzy.

  7. The smell of hyacinths is so sweet and lovely. A few are coming up in the garden now. I don't usually cut those, but purchase pots or bouquets of them from the store.
That's a great list of flowers that bloom all summer.

  13. Lovely flowers and a heavenly smell of the flowers around you. Your friends🌹💐🌸🌺🌷🌻🥀🌼🪻🪷💮 are always welcome!

I bought three Hyacinths, too, and they found a good place in front of my house. Some stones help them to stand stabil.

  14. The Hyacinths are gorgeous. I love them but have to enjoy them outside because the scent gives me a headache. You are blessed with the beautiful bouquets that your children bring you.
