500th Post

Yes, this is the 500th post. I find it hard to believe I've reached that number  and not bored you all to death.

As you've read in my last post my DH's brother died quite suddenly. It has been a week of lots of people coming and going and a mixture of sadness and joy in seeing each other. These pics were taken just before we left for the memorial. We really don't get "dressed up" that often so we made sure to take photos.

With us here is Kate, our eldest grand.  ( The picture behind her is not really crooked, it's the way the pic was taken.  I'm far too OCD to have crooked pics.)

                        The White tree is up....

and the Christmas cactus still has quite a few blooms

In the dining room it's a mix of Fall with the gourds still on the table

The sideboard has a bit of Holly and Cedar and  a few cards but I need to put the tea set away and get out more Christmas decorations, after all, it's almost December!

I hope you are having a great week,

Thanks for visiting,

  1. It seems sometimes the only time we see family is at funerals. So sad.
Nice to see the photo of you are your DH. Your home looks lovely.
    Take care.

  2. That is such a good picture of you and your husband. The last one of you and your granddaughter is pretty too. Your house always looks great. Wish I could keep things as neat and clean as your home always looks. My sister-in-law gave me three cutting of her very old Christmas cactus. I potted them today and hope they will root and live. The cactus once belonged to Poppy's Mother, so it would mean a lot to have one growing here in our house.

  4. How smart to make sure you take photos when you're dressed up!

  5. Sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's death. I'm a little behind on my blog visiting, so I wasn't aware.
Your house is looking Christmasy already! I'm not sure I'll do very much, but maybe a small tree and a couple of nativities. Congratulations on 500 posts!

Congratulations to you on your 500th post. I have been blogging since 2008 and only have 578 posts under my belt.
Your home is looking very pretty!

  7. I realized I never offered ny condolences on the death in your family. Times like this are hard, but at least they bring family together.
I enjoyed seeing a photo of your and your husband. We are slowly transitioning to Christmas here too.
