This has the unlovely name of Fish Trap Park. I'm not sure if this is considered a creek or another small lake.
This stump had some kind of fungus growing along the side. Anyone know what kind it might be?
We would have missed this Bush Tit nest if we hadn't noticed the Bush Tits working on it. They keep up their twittering little songs as they create their strange hanging nest.
We enjoyed our walk and the rest of this rare sunny day. I'm hoping we'll have a few more in the week to come.
Thanks for visiting today, Always love to read your comments.

You had sunshine and no rain!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to walk. I like the boardwalk--and that bush tit nest is really neat too.
ReplyDeleteHi Granny Marigold, what a lovely walk! Hope you do get the chance to enjoy some more sunny days.
ReplyDeleteRobin
Wonderful photos, from your walk.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmmm... Fish Trap Park... Mmmmmmm... Yes, they could come up with a new name, me-thinks. -grin- But then again, it is probably an old name. So suppose, no matter if it isn't a "pretty" name, I suppose its best to maintain it.
Certainly is a lovely place to walk.
Have never seen a nest like that. Very interesting.
Happy Spring,
Luna Crone
You have eyes of wonder, GM!
ReplyDeleteWe went for a walk in a different park Sunday morning as well. Aren't bush tit nests amazing little masterpieces. Such tiny birds making such a beautiful woven pouch.
ReplyDeleteHow great that you were able to take advantage of the sunny day - it seems so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteHello Granny...I am just doing a bit of visiting with my blog friends this morning before my day begins in earnest. The area where you walked on Sunday morning looks like a very nice place to walk. I loved seeing the nest! Thank you for sharing the picture with us.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty place to walk, and what an unusual bird's nest, and so hard to spot. Doesn't it feel good to have a sunny day after so much rain. Hope you get many more sunny days.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing the places where my blog friends walk. Despite the name, Fish Trap Park looks like a lovely place for a stroll. The hanging bird's nest is so interesting. I've never seen one like that.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a good walk with lots of interesting things to look at. It will be nice when our northern woods leaf out!
ReplyDeleteMeredith and I have done much of our run training through there. In fact we did part of our run there this morning, before I met you at the thrift store. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pic of the nest - how intriguing. We don't have bush tits here so I am not familiar with their nesting habits! I so appreciate reading about something that makes me want to learn more so I thank you for adding a "google" moment to my day.
