Mostly about Peaches

On Sunday we picked up some peaches and by today it was time to use them. The jam is very pale; I added some grated ginger for an experiment. Hope we like it.

The rest of the peaches went into this crisp. I like to think crisps are very very healthy because they contain oatmeal. Right?

There's no doubt about green beans being healthy. These are ready for supper. DH picked up some corn so we'll enjoy that too!

And I stopped at the library to pick up my library book. I know I've read it before but I want to reread it and then maybe watch the movie again.  Good summertime reading.

Well, that's about all I did today.
         Thanks for visiting again.

  2. I LOVE that book, and the movie! The characters are better in the book but the scenery in the movie is so wonderful.

  11. Agree. Peach crisp is very healthy, not to mention delicious.
That jam sounds delightful. Have you sampled it yet?
I have peaches all over my counter waiting to ripen. I love summer eating. Always something fresh and yummy to eat.
I have not read that book or seen the movie. I think I'll start looking for it at the thrift shops.
Speaking of books, in answer to your question on my blog, I do love Miss Read and Gladys Taber. I have collections of both. Do you like them too?

    1. Like you I have books by both and am always on the look-out for others!
The jam is a little on the bland side but still good. That's why I like to add either some apricots or nectarines to the peaches to give them a little more flavour.

  12. Hi Granny Marigold, the peaches have been fabulous so far this year. I have made a few peach platz and a couple pies.
We are having corn and green beans for supper tonight. Janice and I happened along a FREE veggie stand the other day and picked up a few things. We were hoping for a donation box but none in sight. Just lovely people sharing their harvest!
I imagine your jam is fabulous!
    Have a great weekend!

  15. I just got a copy of The Enchanted April in the mail yesterday! This year I have read it on e-reader, listened to it twice on Audible, and watched the movie with a friend, who also had no familiarity with it before. It seems to be my new favorite :-) I needed to have a print copy Because. Before this I hadn't read the book or seen the movie. I think it came at just the right time for me...
