Happy first day of the week!! The sun rose today at 8:01. I've been watching and waiting for it to rise before 8 but it seems the days get longer at the other end. I'll keep watching though.
I found this cute wooden sign at the Dollar store; don't know exactly where I'm going to hang it but for $1.25 I was not going to pass it up.
With the Christmas decorations put away I needed to set something out on this table. I decided pink would look nice and cheery.
Nice and cheery is what these colourful peppers are! They will become hot pepper jelly. I have hot peppers that I froze last summer .
Lacking anything to do I got out my pot holder collection and chose a couple to be used this year. I will throw away the grungy ones with the slightly burnt edges. ( Don't ask!).
Now I'm off to the kitchen to make Tomato/lentil soup for supper.
Perfect for a winter's evening.
Take care, dear friends,
Granny Marigold
Love your dollar store sign, love your pinks and bet I would really love that tomato soup!! Hope you had a great day!!
ReplyDeleteDid you make all of those potholders? I tend to hold on to potholders forever. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh Debi, any pot holder I sewed would look awful. It's just not a talent I have.
DeleteI've never seen such a pretty collection of Pot holders. Do you make them? I made a pot holder from a little piece of that Christmas Piggy fabric. It turned out cut so I gave it to a friend. Your pink decorated table is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSince I can't sew I look for pretty things others have made and buy them at garage sales or thrift stores. I enjoy the fun of looking for bargains!!
DeleteYou do have an eye for, and an appreciation of, pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteBeautiful. Love all the colors! X Chy
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of pot holders. I am going to make a tomato soup for supper today too.
ReplyDeleteI love your ready-for-spring pink display!

I especially like the crocheted potholders with the rose in the middle! Love the pink arrangement on the table and the bird pictures behind it. I made a big pot of bean soup yesterday, then accidentally left them simmering when I left to go babysit. A couple of hours later I ran home, not sure if I'd turned them off or not. I was relieved that the apartment wasn't filled with smoke! But they had become more like refried beans. But very dried out, so I threw them out. Sheesh. I'll try again later. :) Enjoy your homey pursuits!
ReplyDeletePretty potholders! I made a 15 Bean Soup. It was okay but not a big hit for either of us. Your pink is lovely:)
ReplyDeleteHi..
ReplyDeleteno not a red hat lady..ha
love the wood sign you found and the pink collection :)

Tomato/lentil soup? Do you share recipes? Love your new sign. Lovely collection of pot holders! Think I need a couple new ones. Nancy
ReplyDeleteI would gladly share my recipe if I had one. I'm afraid I never use a recipe when making soup. I did start with a 28oz can of tomatoes and just added a diced potato, carrots, an onion, red lentils and some bouillon powder that I get in bulk ( I make very sure to get the no MSG).
DeleteNew pot holders will be a snap for you to make because you sew and probably have lots of remnants you can use!
