A Spring Storm

Yesterday late afternoon the skies, which had been clear and sunny all day, became dark and before long we had wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. I had been out earlier in the day to deadhead my tulips.. Sadly, the early ones are done.

The later tulips were in full bloom and the wind seems to have broken many so I brought them in. Might as well enjoy them while they last!

The weather continues to be mixed today. I think it will be a get-things-done-inside kind of day!!

Thanks for visiting today. Have a great weekend.

  1. Lovely tulips Granny Marigold! It is definitely a get-things-done-inside day here although I did manage to slip out to two church rummage sales!
    Have a good weekend.

  2. Sorry the storm damaged your tulips, hope you enjoy those you were able to save. We're having some sunny days but the wind has been terrible.

  4. So sorry for the damage to your flowers... But they certainly make lovely little bouquets.

All the pics are, but that first one, of blossoms in a little pail, is soooooo precious.

And oh mercy, the color of those, in the second photo. Simply breathtaking. Love, love, love them...

  6. Great idea to enjoy your tulips indoors. They are both so pretty. It's always sad to see them go until next year.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. Yes, most of the tulips are done now. We waited so long for spring and then it goes too fast.
We worked in the yard all day yesterday and finished up just as the first BOOM! of thunder rolled across the sky. That was a wild series of storms that went on into the night. Now we'll have to wait for it to warm up again.

  9. Your tulips are beautiful. The ones that I have planted the last two years have been solid colors. I think this fall I will add some that look similar to yours.

Your weather sounds quite a bit like ours these days.

  10. Pretty tulips! We had a really windy day this past week and on my trip to shop today I saw MANY trees in the woods down and others leaning to one side. It's a marshy area, so their roots don't have much to hold onto. Hope you had a good day of doing things inside!

  11. Your flowers are lovely. We have nothing here... it has been so cold and wet that things are just barely getting started. Thank you for sharing yours!

  12. I used to plant tulips in our front yard, but they never bloomed. Nice big plants but no blooms. I may try planting some in the backyard next fall. Yours looked so nice.
