Learning

A brand new year; I hope it will be a happy and healthy one for all of us.

I decided to try making a new collage for my blog. The few I had were made for me by my DIL and she had written out some 'steps' for me how to make my own. Well, it seems that things that are simple for young people are not so simple for some of us older ones. I was getting frustrated because I just couldn't figure it out when my little grandson M came up to see what I was doing. Would you believe that a 9 year old could help me and together we made the "old Houses" collage that you see above. It's not perfect but now I have more confidence and will try to make others. Nothing like learning something new right at the start of the year.

We're having DH's family over this evening for an evening of playing cards and having tea and goodies of which I still have quite a few left from Christmas. I should be tidying up the house and I will too, right after I visit some of your blogs.

Thanks for coming by and reading about my ordinary, sometimes frustrating, life. Your friendship and support means a lot to me.

I love your comments and although I don't usually respond to every one  I do read them and appreciate them too.

  2. Now that's a good sign-learning something new on the first day of the new year!
I love the old houses! I would live in one of the attic rooms with lots of little nooks and crannies.
Have a fun, family-filled evening! I love the snowy little church scene, too! :)

  4. I love your collage! Good job!
I make that kind of thing with Power Point. That way you can add your blog title, too. Just choose new slide and a format with a blank page and then import your collage photo. Then you choose insert text box from the drop down menu in PP. That's probably as clear as mud! Happy New Year!

  9. Your house collage is beautiful, I would be very pleased if I had made it, I love vintage things and houses are no exception. I really enjoy the leftover treats from Christmas and I think they go wonderfully with a cup of tea and a good book. I hope you have a splendid and blessed year ahead!

  11. Isn't it something how these young ones can handle these computers and "techie" things. I really like your new header! I'd love to know the stories behind each one.

Thank you for your kind and heartfelt words that you left to encourage me. xx

  13. Happy New Year!! I'd take any one of those three houses in the middle and left! It's nice to be able to ask a younger person when you have computer issues, I miss that. Not quite the same when you are trying to sort something out, and you can't just say 'oh you do it for me!' I remember trying to do my first header collage. It was very frustrating.

  15. Sure wish your grandson could help me. My blog has looked the same since the beginning! My daughter is busier than ever and doesn't have time to walk me through things on the computer. I love the new collage! I really enjoy your blog.

  16. All our kids have always been able to help me with my computer woes. It's like it's natural to them! Makes me feel like a dunce :) I do love your new collage. I love, love old houses, and those are really neat! We lived in an 1870s Victorian home in rural Mississippi long ago - that was a neat house with 14 foot ceilings.

    1. That snow and scene are so pretty. I am kind of missing snow this winter, it's just rainy most days, here on the Island.

Hope you have an excellent week!😊

  17. Hi, I like your collage of old houses and your last picture of the snow coming down is just beautiful. I am not good with technology but my husband is so he helps me. Yes, the grands know how to do things on their tech stuff better than I! LOL Nancy
