Project Finished

My DH took this awful looking bookshelf (?) and spent hours making it into a lovely piece of furniture...

...that looks like this!  The only cost was for the sheet of beadboard for the back. We already had half a gallon of turquoise paint left after he painted the inside of my garden shed ( it was cheap because it was a 'mistint'). We did mix in some other paint  that we had to make very sure we wouldn't run out half way through. As it turned out we still have some left over.  I think the colour in this picture is more accurate than the next pic. Don't know why one is more green than the other.

It didn't take me long to get the tea cups out of the various boxes I had packed them into. Now I can see and enjoy them when I sit out on the porch. There are still a few empty pots for me to fill *smile*.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this transformation.  Thanks for visiting today.

  2. Wow! He did a fantastic job! He has a real talent. I love the beadboard backing and the top he put on it. Your teacup collection looks amazing in your new shelves. It also looks like you have a good start on a cruet collection as well!

  3. Wow, that's great, I didn't see that coming. Awesome transformation!! And still room for more china treasures ;-) Did you find anything good after we bumped into each other garage saleing today? We went to a lot of GS, and I only bought two other things (and got a couple of freebies) besides those three wire baskets. Poor pickings today.

    1. I did get 4 pretty tea cups with no saucers for three dollars. There sure wasn't much in the way of garage sales and those that there were were kind of useless. Have you figured out a use for your baskets yet?

    2. I did use one on Sunday to hold the jars for two bouquets and one posy, but not sure that I would continue to use them for that. Maybe something will come to me, I hope!

  14. Wow Wow Wow !

That is the best kind of art, I think, to see the potential of something ugly and reveal it by skill and hard work. I'm amazed.
