To celebrate this first official day of Autumn we dropped in on a Fall Festival at the plant shop we have visited several times throughout the Spring and Summer.
I don't understand the fascination people have with the "warty" pumpkins!
I treated myself to some new plants. This Helichrysum 'silver threads' intrigues me. My son said it reminded him of Coral and it sort of does. I hope I can keep it looking this good through the Winter.
It needs good light and our winters tend to be dreary.
DH chose this pretty Gerbera Daisy.
A cheerful bouquet
How did you spend this first day of Fall?
Thanks for stopping by,
Granny Marigold
Beautiful pics GM. Hubby and I spent today at a charity Car show in 88 degree weather. It didnt feel very Fall like...so time to bring some into the home

I did Fall Cleaning - or rather, as I told my neighbor bending over his car's engine on one of my hundred trips to the trash cans, the Cleaning of the Decade, of my garage. I did it yesterday, too. It is a big space, supposedly for three cars, but only the smallest, single car can fit! So it's full of everything else.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen those warty pumpkins before and I wouldn't mind not seeing them again!! But I like the flowers and plants you brought home very much. Happy Autumn!
I spent the morning at a garden club meeting learning about Hydrangeas ans sharing a potluck lunch. This afternoon I did my physical therapy exercises and picked and arranged three new bouquets for the house. Now I'm sort of watching college football. The equinox is a day for balance. Is that balanced enough?
ReplyDeleteNice outing! I like Mums...they are so pretty but short lived here. I spent the day at my garage sale:)
ReplyDeleteI spent the day indoors sorting photo albums and avoiding the heat and humidity of our first day of fall in NC. I am so looking forward to cooler, crisper weather.
ReplyDeleteYour new plants are very pretty. Happy Fall!
First day of fall brought lots of rain, spent the day in the house not doing much. The silver thread plant is different...does it make a flower? Hope it does good for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm not crazy about those 'warty' pumpkins either.
ReplyDeleteFirst day of fall here was a beautiful sunny day. I spent the day clearing dead fall and making a natural fence in my wooded front yard.
I love the silver thread plant, I have never come across anything like it before. We had a stroll along the port wall, washing the sea ever changing.
ReplyDeleteYou pick out the prettiest flowers and plants. I really don't like those warty pumpkins either. If I've got the money to buy a pumpkin, I want it to be a big orange one.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these happy photos! I love the daisies and other bright blooms. I was thinking about stopping in at our local nursery, and now you've settled it for me -- it would certainly be cheering. Enjoy your new blooms!!
ReplyDeleteI like the one your son said reminded him of coral. It does. It will be pretty if you can keep it as it is or bigger. You will find out right. Ha.ha. I took time to tidy and sort things out. Our fall around the Apt is just showing but in town the storekeepers have got there creatures up outside windows They decorate every year. To see who has the best set up.
