This and That

This picture taken on the weekend shows how beautiful our area can be. Unfortunately the nice weather has passed and today our forecast is for rain showers and/or flurries!!  With the risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon.

This is closer to what we saw this morning.  We came back from our walk rather damp.

Here's a bit of trivia....

On this day in 1899 Gladys Taber was born.  I recently read this about her:" Her warm memories are balm to souls frazzled by modern life, perfect for rainy or snowy days with or without a cup of tea or a cat or dog."    Her many books about her home, Stillmeadow, have been enjoyed by so many of her fans. Happy Birthday, Gladys Taber.

Can't forget yet another teapot.

  4. Now that is a cute teacup. :-) The weather is looney tunes this year. We ended up staying home from camping and will go tomoorow instead. It's because we're supposed to have tornadoes tonight and everyone is worried about us. We be fine. It has been awhile since I've experienced a tornado but I still know what to do
    Blessings,

  5. My mom loved reading Gladys Taber and she got me started. I enjoy getting her books out and re-reading them, especially when I'm tired of bad news and the general nuttiness in the world today.

The bird on the top of the teapot makes it very special!

  8. I have one of the Stillmeadow books and enjoy reading it from time to time. I'd love to find more, but they are pretty rare. Crazy weather. It snowed here this morning! Didn't stick, but there was a layer of slush on the picnic table.

  9. Well, I can see I have missed an absolute horde of teacups. Well! I do love the teapot! And sorry about your weather turning so cold again. Ours is going to be "cold" for us, 39 F, tomorrow (for the low). Have a wonderful Holy Week! I want to read some Gladys Taber, thank you for the idea.

  12. Both of your top photos of your area are breath-taking! You do live in stunning scenery -- those mountains!!
I like Gladys Taber's writing a lot. I have about 4 of her books and belong to a FB group of her fans. She has such a calming, grounding way of depicting life -- life 50+ years ago.
