I'm still slowly filling boxes of 'stuff' and taking them to the thrift store. Of course I pop in for a short walk-around.
I found this doorstop angel. DH wondered why I want such a thing but she makes me smile and that's a good reason, right?  I put her behind the door in my little washroom ( where I never had nor wanted one of those regular stops.)
(What makes her a door stop is that she is filled with something like sand. Heavy.)
Seen down our street was this unusual truck. I forget what make it was but noticed that it was a left- hand drive.
Interesting tidbit:
Although some Canadian provinces previously drove on the left due to British ties, they all switched to the right, with the last province (Newfoundland) making the change in 1947 to align with the United States and the rest of North America.
Thanks for coming by💖

I haven't been in a thrift store in some time but I am gathering boxes to take.
ReplyDeleteYour angel is sweet
Cathy
I wasn't aware of this change in some Canadian provinces. I always take public transit, and I was born in 1956, so this could be why. Thank 😊 you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteI love ❤️ the illustrations and messages.
The angel is very cute, I have a little dog. I will also go to bring decorations to the thrift store before Xmas.
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to go to the thrift store and see what jumps in your cart! I like your angel! diane in northern wis
ReplyDeleteThat is an unusual looking truck.
ReplyDeleteI like your doorstop angel.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy and peaceful weekend.
All the best Jan
Just going to the thrift store to look...lol...my husband would never believe that one. :) I'm glad that the angel doorstop makes you smile. She's a cutie.
ReplyDeleteNo energy to go into the thrift shops lately...so you enjoy it for me!
ReplyDeleteI am amused by your 'unusual' truck; here in England our neighbours are having an extension built and there are usually several of there 'ordinary' pick-ups parked outside for the different trades!
ReplyDeleteI love the fourth monkey 🐒
This doorstop angel is so nice! I love the quote with the content lady sitting peaceful with her cup in front of her house.
ReplyDeleteBy the way: I often see in TV artist Bob Ross painting such wooden huts like in your header.
That the doorstop angel makes you smile is a very good reason to buy it! I have something to deliver at the thrift store, so maybe there will be something with me back home too :) The picture with the 4 monkeys was very good!
ReplyDeleteI think a cute thrift store find that you bring home simply because it makes you smile/brings you joy is a perfect thrift store find!:)
ReplyDeleteHa! The 4th monkey is my spirit animal at work lately. Keeps me out of trouble and discourages the gossipers!
ReplyDeleteI love those three barns! Your angel is very sweet, what a fun find! Keep smiling and have a happy day. Best, Virginia
ReplyDeleteIt has been a while since I have been to a thrift store....just so long as you took more than you brought home is good.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! Yes, I go to the thrift shops just to look too. Your angel is sweet and you bought her for the best reason.
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the vehicle and changes to the Canadian driving rules.
Hilarious (and so true) about that 4th monkey.
I like that angel! I seem to take one box in the back door, and another out the front! Always find some thing...or two or three...
