Laundry and Flowers

Good Monday Morning!  The sun is trying to shine through thin clouds. It was 0C when we set out on our walk this morning.  Although the nights will be cold we are forecast to have some quite pleasant days this last bit of March. I do hope the rain holds off until after Easter.

It's Monday so I am doing the laundry. I'm sure glad I don't have to use such an old fashioned washing machine but I will say this for those oldies...They did a great job and also used less water since one re-used instead of using fresh water for each load.

 Easter flowers for the table.

Thanks for visiting.

Have a wonderful week.

  5. Beautiful photo and sweet illustrations! The weather here in Montreal was mostly sunny and reached in the 50's Fahrenheit.
However, the temperature will drop over tomorrow and Wednesday. I am fine with this, I just take one day at a time. :)
As far as laundry goes, I remember those old wringer washers! You had to be careful not to get your fingers and arm caught in the wringer. Yes, it did have an emergency release, but still. :)

  9. I've used those ringer washers and yes they do do a very good job. I remember we'd wash our whites first and then our colors and then are darks in the same water.
I'm praying the weather is nice for Easter too, because our church is having an outdoor service in the city park.

  12. I remember having a 'discussion' with a friend years ago who was totally sure that the twin tub washing machines were better than new-fangled automatics. 'I can do a whole wash in a morning, and when I mop the floor I've a clean kitchen afterwards ' she said. 'It takes me five minutes', I replied. '2 loads through, one of whites, one of coloureds, just a few minutes of my time for each.' She wasn't happy!

  14. I have a great respect for our mothers and grandmothers doing all this work by hands. They could be in a special wise the future for our climate.

  17. I hope the rain holds off, too - I have a ton of pollen pods to rake up in the backyard and the rain turns them into carpet! Have a great rest of your Tuesday, I am a bit late!
