This was taken about a week ago when I sowed my Zinnias. They came up in 4 days but a number of peat pots show no growth so I'm checking out my seeds on damp paper towel to see if they will sprout.
If they do I'll put them in the empty cells.
It's raining and the house feels chilly so I'm going to bake. It will be bread and instead of using water I'll use up the last of the jug of milk which is starting to smell 'off' ( even though the date on the jug is today's date.) I'm going to make a pot of Beef & Barley soup for supper and with the fresh bread it will be the perfect meal for a wet and rather dreary day.
I'm steeping some tea (lemon & ginger) and once the bread is in the pan I'll sit and enjoy it.
The words on my little teapot are from Psalm 118:24.
Thanks for visiting

No rain here, just a beautiful sunny day, and above freezing! Mind you there is still a foot of snow on the ground!
ReplyDeleteYou selected a couple of pretty colored zinnias. I hope the seeds sprout for you. Beef and Barley soup sounds good. We actually had temperatures in the 70s F today.
ReplyDeleteNo rain here today in Montreal, a partly sunny, partly cloudy mild day! Lovely flowers. Your beef and barley soup sounds scrumptious! Your teapot is beautiful! I love tea!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to sowing some seeds in a few weeks. But not yet. Not just yet.
ReplyDeleteYour day sounds wonderful! Always nice to see you here 👀! Cheers, Virginia
ReplyDeletePS, bet the soup tastes great.
We have had a dreary day today and yesterday wasn’t any better. Tomorrow is supposed to be much nicer and warmer too. I used to plant zinnia’s every summer when we had a house. I do miss them. I’m sure you will enjoy your soup and bread tonight. It sounds like the perfect meal.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Sounds like a good day for baking. Drizzly and dreary here today.
ReplyDeleteI do hope the seeds sprout. Sometimes they can be stubborn.
ReplyDeletePerfect words on your teapot.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Your food for today sounds perfect. After a busy morning I hoped to get out for a walk, but I got rained out. Did some time on the bike instead, where I can read my book.
ReplyDeleteWow.....you're sowing zinnias already? Amazing...we are months away from that here. Love your little teapot. And freshly baked bread sounds great.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a good cup of tea
ReplyDeleteZinnia & Fresh bread two of my favorites. Raining here in Ohio
ReplyDeleteMrs. F.G. has Geranium seedlings coming up in the basement.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful teapot! I love that it has Scripture on it. I've never seen one like that before.
ReplyDeleteYour bread and beef and barley soup sound delicious. I love beef and barley together.
I'm so glad your plants have already sprouted. It's fun to see the flower seeds coming up. Enjoy your meal and stay warm. Hopefully, spring will come soon.
ReplyDeleteHomemade soup and homemade bread, oh my goodness, that sounds wonderful and I'm sure you're home smells amazing. I wish mine did right now. Last night I opened up a bag of frozen broccoli that had been in the freezer too long, it was the kind you cook in the bag in the microwave, so I didn't know it was bad until after I cooked it. I've never had that happen but it smelled terribly strong and smelled up my whole kitchen. I should have taken it out to the trash immediately instead of putting it in the kitchen garbage. I hope I didn't ruin your dinner by talking about that.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty teapot but then blue and white are my colors and an extra bonus having that verse from Psalms. I hope you're having a lovely day dear blogging friend.
What a cozy way to spend an afternoon.
ReplyDeleteAnd tasty too.
Cathy
I LOVE Zinnia! Whaht heart-ful preparation for the summer you make here! I also LOVE ginger-tea with lemon.
ReplyDeleteTea and flowers. Sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour cooking sounds very tasty. Today it is raining and and a bit chilly the week end sounds better so we may go out on the coast. Have a nice weekend
